To celebrate the completion of the Library’s renovation, we are giving all patrons a one-time “fresh start” by waiving all extended use fees incurred prior to May 15. In addition, extended use fees will not be assessed for items returned or renewed between May 15 and May 31! Patrons who pay for lost or damaged material will receive a 50% discount when the charges are paid in full at the Library prior to June 15. Avoid extended use fees in the future by signing up for email pre-overdue notifications. Most items can be renewed up to three times by logging into “My Account” on the Library’s website or by calling the Check Out Desk. Sign up for LibraryElf (www.libraryelf.com) and test the new “Auto Renew” feature – your qualifying Library material will be automatically renewed based on your preferred settings. Find Us on Facebook & Twitter Summer Reading Program: Reading by Design June 1 – July 31 The Summer Reading Program for adults, teens and youth begins June 1 at the Warrenville Public Library. Participants of all ages are eligible for great prizes. Pick up your reading log at the Reference Desks or print one from the Library website beginning June 1. To be eligible for prizes, completed logs must be turned in by July 31. Renovation Update Download our smartphone & tablet app wpl.boopsie.com Construction crews are finishing the last phase of the renovation. Study rooms, a computer lab and a quiet reading room will open in June. In April, the Library’s main entrance re-opened and the Youth and Teen areas welcomed their first visitors. All collections – books, DVDs, music CDs and audiobooks – are in their new locations. Staff are ready to assist you from two new reference desks – one in the Adult Department, the other in the Youth Department. New furniture offers a variety of seating options. Reading by Design Adult Summer Reading Program, Ages 18 and up Participants must read or listen to five books from the Library between June 1 and July 31 and submit their reading log to receive a free gift. Warrenville Library cardholders also earn a prize drawing entry for each completed log. Completion of additional reading logs earns added entries in the prize drawing, but no other free gifts. Prizes in the drawing include a $100 Home Depot gift card and a $50 California Pizza Kitchen gift card. Summer Readers are also eligible to participate in the monthly Reader Review prize drawing. Entrants must submit a review for a book from the Library’s collection. More than one review may be completed. The winners of each monthly drawing will receive a “Reading by Design” canvas tote bag. Telescope Observation of the Night Sky Wednesday, August 23, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Astronomer Michelle Nichols from the Adler Planetarium will have telescopes available in the Commons (Manning Street sidewalk area) during the August 23 outdoor concert.
