February 24, 2017 [email protected] Math: Social Studies: We continue to learn about partners on math mountains. We are practicing our Math Mountains. We learned that George Washington was our first president. Reading: We continue to read our story books. We will be bringing our books home to read to you. The children are doing great with their reading. Please remember to write sentences and practice writing pocket words. We are all finished with the letters and vowel sounds. We are going to review some of the letter sounds that are vowels we are having troubles with. We learned before we had a president, we had a King. The king lived in a far way place across the ocean. We had to follow his laws. We wanted to make our own laws. We went to war with the king’s army. George was the leader of our army and we won. We started a new county and we needed a president. The people loved George Washington. That’s how he became our first president. He is on the quarter and the $1.00 bill too! Religion: Jesus teaches us about forgiving. What is a nice way to respond to someone when they hurt you? How would Jesus answer this question?
