Pewter is a white metal, and the polished finish shown in our catalogue is the historically correct finish for pewter. The antique finish we provide is just a surface finish. It will mar, and it can be
uneven and splotchy, especially on larger pieces. We highly recommend the polished finish for day to day use.
Each piece of ASL Pewter is lovingly handcrafted by Thomas and Patricia Hooper in our studio in Louisiana, Missouri. Everything we offer is made by us and our apprentice, Brice Chandler.
We cast pewter in antique molds that we own, or in molds that we make in house. Many of our pieces are spun on the lathe over forms that we design and cut from hard wood. All our pewter is 100%
lead free, so you can use it with confidence and pride.
We encourage you to visit our studio/gallery. You can work with us to design a custom piece for you, watch us make your special order or purchase unique, one-of-a-kind items. You have the
opportunity to witness and participate in the creation process!
