What is New
1.1
Highlights
1.1.1
Integrate OMS-200 with Windows Applications Using OMS-200 Printer Driver
Speed up the movement of documents from a third-party word processing application to OMS-200 using OMS-200
Printer Driver. You no longer need to save documents in the computer file system and manually upload them from the
drive. You can now send documents to OMS-200 directly from a word-processing application using standard commands
for print (e.g. <Ctrl> + <P>).
WHAT IT BRINGS TO CLIENTS
● Users can easily submit jobs from a Windows application by selecting OMS-200 Printer Driver as a virtual printer.
● End users can work with the third-party applications that they are familiar with.
HOW IT WORKS
OMS-200 Printer Driver is a virtual printer that converts the files you send for printing (e.g. DOC or XLS files) to the
PostScript format and submits them to OMS-200. In the OMS-200 user interface, the files automatically create so-called
printer input jobs, which you can manage and send for processing.
To integrate OMS-200 with third-party applications via OMS-200 Printer Driver, take the following steps:
1. Have the OMS-200 license with the Virtual printer driver option enabled.
2. Go to Settings | Printer Driver and download OMS-200 Printer Driver.
a) Download the installer by clicking on DOWNLOAD PRINTER DRIVER.
b) Locate the downloaded installer in the file system and run the installation.
For more information see the corresponding version of the OMS-200 Installation Guide.
3. After you install OMS-200 Printer Driver, check the Enable printer input check box in Settings | Printer Driver.

OMS-200
Release Notes
4. Create documents in a third-party application (e.g. MS Word) and print them. In the print dialog, set the print
device to OMS-200 Printer Driver.
This creates printer input jobs which you can access in OMS-200 in the Printer Input tab.
5. Upload the printer input jobs for processing:
● Either go to the Input tab in the Processing Wizard and click on the ADD PRINTER INPUT button.
● Or go to the Printer Input tab, select the jobs which you want to process and click on the Process Selected
icon.
This previews the uploaded printer input in the Input tab and allows you to process the printer input the
same way as files added from the drive.
1.1.2
Merging Documents with the Same Layout
You can now easily group multiple documents of the same type that belong to a single customer. For example, you
can send invoices that were generated for one customer over the past month in one envelope. You no longer need to
create an alternative input (INPUT B) to merge documents with the same layout, i.e. documents that all locate their
merge ID in the same position. Now you can process all documents within a single input.
WHAT IT BRINGS TO CLIENTS
● Reduces postal costs by sending multiple documents of the same type in a single envelope.
● Improves communication with regular customers, who receive multiple documents consolidated over short
periods.
HOW IT WORKS
To merge two or more documents that locate their merge ID – e.g. the customer number – in the same position, follow
these steps:
1. Upload an input file and configure the settings in the Input tab of the Processing Wizard.
2. Go to the Merge section of the Input tab and check the Activate document merging option.
3. In Merge documents with, check the Same layout option.
This merges documents that locate their merge ID in the same position, i.e. documents coming from the same
input.
4. To only merge documents that belong to a specific customer, use a value that is unique for each customer and
is present in every document you want to process. Ideally, select the customer number.
a) Capture a text zone around the customer number.
b) Select the zone in the Merge ID drop-down menu.
c) Define whether the captured text can be found on the first pages or last pages of the documents. If the
customer number is only present on the first page, select On first page in the Merge ID position drop-down
menu.

5. Upload files for processing.
Documents with an identical merge ID are merged into one mailpiece.
6. To check the merging result, go to the Optical Mark tab and navigate through the mailpieces using the Mailpiece
combo box in the document preview toolbar.
1.2
Further New Functionality
1.2.1
Templates
EXPORT/IMPORT TEMPLATES
Now you can export templates from one OMS-200 installation and import them to another one, or save exported
templates for back-up purposes. Go to the Templates table in the Main tab, select the template you want to export
and click on the Export
icon. This generates an EXPORT file which you can locate in your computer's file system and
use it as back-up. To import the template to another installation of OMS-200, go to the Templates table in the Main
tab and click on the Import
icon.
SHARE TEMPLATES
Increase efficiency by sharing a configured template with other users in the company. Sharing saves time and ensures
that a consistent template is applied to all documents across the company. Once you create a template, make it available

for other users by hovering over the template tile and clicking on the Start Sharing
icon. The ability to edit shared
templates is restricted to the template author only.
1.2.2
Optical Mark Profiles
USE CUSTOMER ID WITHOUT ADDITIONAL INTEGRITY FUNCTIONS
To ensure mailpiece integrity when placing a BCR1D/BCR2D optical mark onto documents, you can now use Customer
ID without additional integrity functions. This customizes the optical mark for a greater variety of folder inserters. Check
the Allow to use Customer ID alone check box in Optical Mark Profiles | Hardware Definition | Advanced License and
check the Include customer ID in the optical marks option in the Customer ID section in the OPTICAL MARK step.
1.2.3
Processing Wizard / INPUT
PRN FILE FORMAT SUPPORTED
You can now upload and process files of the PRN format complying with the PCL 5 standard. You can either upload
them via the OMS-200 web interface in Input | Input Files | Add files from drive or via the OMS-200 Printer Driver.
DOCUMENTS CAN OVERFLOW ACROSS INPUT FILES
You can now process documents which overflow from one input file to another input file or files. When splitting input
files into documents using the Split by condition(s) option in Input | Split, documents no longer end with the input file
border but can overflow to another input file or files until the split condition is fulfilled.
USE OPERATORS TO SPLIT FILES INTO DOCUMENTS
You can now split input files into documents by comparing a numerical or alphabetic value found in the document with
a user-defined value. This is especially useful if you process documents of a fixed length, as you can base the split
condition on the page number. You can do so using operators Is less than, Is less or equal to and the like, which are
available in the Processing Wizard in Input | Split | Split by condition(s).
SET THE PAGE SIZE IN PCL 5 AND PRN INPUT FILES
You can now select the input page size when uploading PCL 5 and PRN files for processing, thus clearly defining where
individual pages of an input file start and end. Do so by selecting the appropriate format in Input | Input Files | Input
format. The PCL 5 and PRN file format is by default set to Letter (displays as Autodetect). The PDF file format is
recognized automatically.
DISTINGUISH IMAGES FROM TEXT IN SAMPLE FILES
When defining conditions in the Processing Wizard using zones, you can now easily distinguish whether the zone
content is text or image. This is especially useful in letter heads which contain company names with enhanced graphics,
or when a whole-page overlay is used as a filling form. Capture a zone around the text in the sample file and click on
the Document details
icon in the navigation bar. The context menu displays the value read from the respective zone.
If the value is (empty), the zone contains an image.
MOVE DOCUMENT DETAILS MENU
When checking a document's details (e.g. values read in individual zones) using the Show details
icon in the horizontal
toolbar of the input file preview, you can now move the context menu within the input file preview so that you can
always see the desired parts of the preview.

Processing Wizard / OUTPUT
SELECT PRINTER TRAYS FOR FIRST/LAST PAGE
Enhance your documents by printing selected pages on a higher-density paper, a pre-printed form, branded paper,
and so on. To do so select a different paper source for the first and/or the last page of a document in the Use different
paper source for first/last sheet drop-down menus in Print | Print and generate PDF | Advanced print options.
1.3
Changes in Default
If you are upgrading from a previous version, please read all of these changes carefully!
Sometimes we have to change features that were implemented in previous versions, occasionally this also changes the
behavior of the feature. We list all such changes in functionality here. If you have been using features that have changed,
you may be required to recalibrate or make changes to your established solution.
Documents Can Overflow across Input Files
When defining the borders of individual documents within an input file, you can use the Split by condition(s) option in
Input | Split. When this option is checked, documents can overflow to another input file or files until the split condition
is fulfilled. Therefore, if overflowing from one input file to another is undesirable, ensure that you adjust the existing
input condition accordingly.
This default change was applied to the following build of OMS-200: 1.2.0.0 and the new behavior applies to all subsequent
versions. Previously, documents ended with the input file border and could not overflow from one input file to another.
Merge Documents that Come from INPUT A or INPUT B
You can merge two or more documents into one mailpiece in the Merging section in the INPUT step of the Processing
Wizard. Now all documents which have the same merge ID (e.g. the same customer number) are merged even if you
upload them using the same INPUT tab. For example, if you upload a file or files containing multiple invoices for a single
customer via INPUT A or INPUT B, all the invoices coming from the respective input can merge into one mailpiece.
This default change was applied to the following build of OMS-200: 1.2.0.2 and the new behavior applies to all subsequent
versions. Previously, you could only merge documents where each file came from a different input. For example, you
could only merge documents where one document was an invoice coming from INPUT A and another document was
a postal order coming from INPUT B. You could not merge two invoices from INPUT A.
Optical Mark's Line Thickness Impact on Line Spacing
When defining optical mark properties in Optical Mark Profiles | Mark Technology | Line spacing, you can adjust both
the optical mark line thickness and the line spacing between lines. This enables you to tailor the optical mark (OMR) to
the capabilities of the inserter used. Line spacing is now defined as the distance between the starting edges of individual
lines. As lines grow thicker the distance remains the same, however, the white space between the lines reduces.
This default change was applied to the following builds of OMS-200: 1.1.3.2 and 1.2.0.0 and the new behavior applies to
all subsequent versions. Previously, line spacing was defined as the distance between the inner edges of two lines (i.e.
as the white space between lines). Therefore, the whole optical mark grew unnecessarily big; lines grew thicker but the
white space size between them remained the same.

Release Notes
NOTE Because we continue to develop older versions at the same time as we are creating new ones, it may
happen that changes are made in more than one version. For this reason we list the exact build numbers
where the change was made.
It follows that any build with a higher number will behave in the new way, e.g. if a change has been made in
build 1.0.2.1 then build 1.0.2.0 will behave in the old way and 1.1.0.3 will behave in the new way. The build number
of this version is 1.2.1.0 (as shown on the front page of this document).
1.4
Localization
OMS-200 has been translated to French and German. This includes the graphical user interface and the following
documents: User Manual, Getting Started and Installation Guide. The last translated version for this release was 1.1.5.1.
Localization takes place on a single build of the software between the builds which are used for Beta and General
Availability (GA) release.
All new features should have been localized at the time of GA releases. However, it can happen that minor GUI changes
are made after the localized build of any release cycle and those changes will not have been translated from English.
