Circa 1850, female garden statue originates from a
Palladian residence in Northern Italy. The statue has
been sculpted in Italian limestone wearing the classical
robe, and holding a basket of grapes to the left. The very
detailed statue is positioned onto the original limestone
plinth. Andrea Palladio 1508-1580, the famous Italian
architect used numerous statues which still today adorn
the famous villas and parks in the veneto region. He was
mainly influenced by Roman and Greek architecture and
is widely recognized to be the most influential individual
in the history of architecture.
