in close touch with the .local -situation =of the various c i t i e s and towns.
For the present pui- personal-service department is the b u s i e s t . There are "

Remittances;
I havo already w r i t t e n to Goiter about talcing ' ver the remittances in our
office. I think that should be done, but I do not want to do so u n t i l I hear
from you.
Constructive Aid.
The quastion of construetivo aid here is very urgent, 'jjlio unemployment is
great, and i t seems to me that som"o'_direct steps w i l l have to ue tclean to
moot t h i s s i t u a t i o n . I would suggest the allotments of special sums for
the establishment of cooperative work-shops, also for cooperative "lo&n^f
s o c i e t i e s whore tho small merchants would secure money in order to s t a r t
t h e i r business again.
I am considering making a thorough survey of a l l l o c a l i n s t i t u t i o n s , which.
are being conducted through our funds, said hop>e that they v/ill bo improved
considerably i n the near future., f'he same investigation 1 hope to carry
through in a l l the i n s t i t u t i o n s in the d i s t r i c t .
'Again I want to mention tiiut i t would be advisable to -assign some special
sum for the cashing of chocks drawn on the l o c a l Polska Krajowa Kassa. ihese
chocks v.-0 can easily cash in after a period of 3 or 4- woeks in the meantime
the people would oe helped out considerably. In order to enable a l l of the
checks which people hold here on the Polska Krajowa Kassa to be paid out,
500,000 marks v/ill be s u f f i c i e n t , 'i'his sum can always be replenished by
tli© cashing in of tho checks a t trie bank, when t h e i r v e r i f i c a t i o n a r r i v e s ,
i . e . by the time we have paid out the 500,000 marks wo can cash in a suff i c i e n t amount of checks in order to continue further paying out now checks
presented age to u s .
