Adaptations of the American buffalo include a specially
segmented stomach to help digest tough plant material , an
enlongated tongue , a heighted sense of hearing and smell , a
hump and large low-set head and thick coat.

Bighorn sheep eat different foods depending on the season. During the
summer, they subsist on grasses or sedges. During the winter they eat
more woody plants, such as willow, sage and rabbit brush. Desert
bighorn sheep eat brushy plants such as desert holly and desert
cactus.
WHAT DOES THE BIGHORN SHEEP EAT

The bighorn's body is compact and muscular; the muzzle,
narrow and pointed; the ears, short and pointed; the tail, very
short. The fur is deer like and usually a shade of brown with
whitish rump patches. The fur is smooth and composed of an
outer coat of brittle guard hairs and short, gray, crimped
fleece underfur. The summer coat is a rich, glossy brown but it
becomes quite faded by late winter.
