Biosphere Reserve
The Waterton Biosphere Reserve Association would like to invite you/your organization to
participate in the development of a cooperation plan which will guide the future work and
direction of the Waterton Biosphere Reserve through 2018. This includes discussion on
current WBRA projects along with plans for future initiatives. You can contribute to the cooperation plan in the following ways:
Join us at a Cooperation Planning Forum: January 28, 2015 Heritage Inn, Pincher Creek
OR January 29, 2015 Tanner Senior Centre, Cardston
The forums will be held from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm with a light lunch provided. RSVP required

Complete a questionnaire

Large Carnivores ­ Always an
interesting discussion. On November 12th and 13th The Waterton
Biosphere Reserve Carnivore Working
Group held public meetings in the M.D. of
Pincher Creek, Cardston County and the
M.D. of Ranchland. With approximately 150
attendees in total, the Carnivore Working
Group addressed concerns from area
residents and hosted discussion regarding
what the future may hold for the
management of large carnivores in
southwestern Alberta. One significant finding presented at the
meetings is new data which suggests that
southwest Alberta's residents are right; the
number of grizzly bears in this neck of the
woods is significantly higher than what
