These operating instructions contain the key instructions for properly and safely
operating the bar magnet insert.
Obligations and Liability
The basic prerequisite for the safe and proper handling and operation of the bar

Proper/Designated Use
The bar magnet insert for the Wombat filter element was designed and constructed
as a permanent magnet for the separation of metallic particles and splinters from
fluids.
Improper Use or Use Deviating from Intended Use
Improper use may result in hazard to life and limb. Improper use is:

Careless handling of the bar magnet insert near electronic or mechanical
devices.

Failure to observe a sufficient clearance to people and devices at risk.

Installation and deinstallation in an explosive air environment.
When handling our magnetic cores / bar magnets, for example during
(de)installation and when changing the filter, observe the following:
DANGER
Spark formation by the magnet
Danger of fatal injury in an explosive air
environment.
► Carry out maintenance work outside or when
there is no explosive air environment present.
DANGER
Strong magnetic field
Danger of fatal injury for people with artificial
pacemakers
► Maintain sufficient clearance (~ 2 m) between
yourself and the bar magnet insert.

► Keep the bar magnet insert far enough away (> 2 m) from PCs, monitors,
floppy disks, magnetic cards, mobile phones, watches and other electronic
and mechanical measuring devices.
These operating instructions refer primarily to dangers arising when handling the bar
magnet insert. They make no claim of completeness.

Transporting the bar magnet insert
Transporting the bar magnet insert
Carry the bar magnet insert manually by the centering cross.
Observe the valid IATA regulations when transporting magnetized materials by air.
No magnetic fields may penetrate through the packaging. Provide a shield.
Disposing of packaging material
Dispose of the packaging material as appropriate for the environment.

The bar magnet insert is delivered to you ready to use. The scope of delivery

CAUTION
Sharp-edge metal splinters/particles
Danger of cuts
► Wear gloves when instalilng/deinstalling the bar
magnet.
Install/deinstall the bar magnet insert for the filter element as follows:
1.
Pull the bar magnet insert (2) up out of the filter
element (1) and place it on the centering cross.
Be careful of metallic objects in the
area.
2.
Clean the bar magnet insert by rubbing off the
metal splinters/particles with a lint-free cloth.

Place the cleaned bar magnet insert (2) into the
filter element (1) from above.
4.
The pins (X) are used to center the bar magnet
insert in the filter element.
5.
The installation of the bar magnet is complete.

Cleaning / maintaining the bar magnet insert
CAUTION

► Wear gloves during cleaning.
Clean the bar magnet insert every time the filter element is changed and every time
it is removed by rubbing off the metal splinters/particles with a lint-free cloth.

Disposing of the bar magnet insert
When decommissioning and/or disposing of the unit, observe all local guidelines
and regulations pertaining to occupational safety and environmental protection.
After disassembling the unit and separating the various materials, reuse them or
dispose of them properly in accordance with local regulations.
