The Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
(PolyU) takes pleasure to organize The ME 80th Anniversary Alumni Reunion Dinner which
will be held on 23 March 2017 (Thursday), and to appeal for your participation and support.
As one of the founding departments of PolyU since 1937, ME has been dedicated to support the
development in mechanical engineering in the region and to train future leaders for industry,
academia, government and communities, to serve the societal needs over the years.
To celebrate the 80th Anniversary of its establishment, the Department is delighted to organize The
ME Alumni Reunion Dinner. Featuring The History of PolyU ME exhibition to showcase the
historical development and achievements of the Department in the past 80 years and housing over 50
tables for alumni and guests, the Dinner is more than a wining and dining function but it is a very
special occasion where partners, alumni and friends of the Department will have an opportunity to
renew friendships and understand more about the development of the Department.
Furthermore, during the Dinner, there will be an Award Presentation Ceremony for The 1st
Outstanding ME Alumni Award. Eight distinguished alumni have been selected to receive the
Award for their accomplishments in the profession as well as their contribution towards the
community.
With PolyU ME as non-profit organization, we would like to appeal to you to partner with us and
