World travellers come to Churchill in the fall to witness polar bears waiting for the ice to form on Hudson Bay so that they can resume seal hunting and break many months of fasting. We will view the earth’s largest land carnivore from the safety of a Tundra Buggy®. The tour is enriched by sightings of other wildlife, migrating and resident birds, historic Cape Merry and the Itsanitaq Museum. HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS TRIP: Leave Saskatoon via car pool at 8:00 am on November 9, 2017. Return by 5:00 pm on November 16, 2017 via car pool (gas costs are included in fees). Car-pooling organization will take place at pretrip meetings. Train berths may be available at www.viarail.ca. •A ccommodations at the gold standard LEED certified Churchill Northern Studies Centre. The study centre is located on the traditional polar bear migration route to the Bay. Staying at the centre provides us an opportunity to meet and learn from researchers.
