is a singer, dancer, movie star, and author. Madonna
reinvents her music and her style to keep her fans

League of Their Own, Dangerous Game, and others.
Madonna wrote a series for children’s books called The
English Roses, which is about a group of girls and their
friendship.
Childhood
Madonna’s full name is Madonna Louise Ciccone.
She was born on August 16, 1959. She grew up in Bay
City, Michigan with 5 other siblings. Madonna's family
is Catholic and her parents were VERY religious and a
huge part of her music. When Madonna was very young
her mom died (at the age of 30) so Madonna had to
learn to take care of her family by herself. She learned
to be strong, which many people see in her music and
in her performances.
Music History
Madonna has been making albums and getting
more and more fans for 21 years. Madonna released
her first album in November 1990 when she was 25.
She has made 11 studio albums, 2 live albums, 5
compilation albums, and 3 soundtracks (21 total).
Madonna has millions of fans.
Achievements
Madonna has won many awards and achieved
many things. In 1996 Madonna won critical acclaim
and the Golden Globe award for best actress in a
motion picture for her role in Evita. Remarkably,
Madonna has sold more than 300 million records, and
is known to be the world’s best recording artist of all
time by the Guinness World Records. Also, Time
magazine ranked Madonna as one of the “25 most
powerful women of the century.”
