This will be a one-day conference designed to provide resources. It will be held at the Carl Grant Events Center at Union University, and host a variety of vendors who provide helpful services. We’re delighted to bring back our featured speaker for the day, Teepa Snow, who is an occupational therapist with over 30 years of practice/experience in geriatrics and dementia care. Teepa will be covering these subjects during the conference: 1. Dementia 360 - Seeing the Condition from Everyone’s Eyes. March 21 Poetry Day 2. Why Do They Do That? Understanding symptoms and behaviors in dementia. March 23 Dixie Cup Day 3. Creative and practical tips for getting through the day. March 29 Walmart Day March 31 Crayola Crayon Day 4. Understanding yourself as a caregiver. What do you need to keep going. Door prizes and hot buffet lunch are included in the $25 registration fee. Jennie Spraggins, Executive Director Regency Retirement Village of Jackson Recent Events FUNtastic Friday Red Carpet/Hollywood Day – February 3 Remembrance Village/ Valentine Crafts with Jill – February 8 FUNtastic Friday is an event held once a month and both residents and staff are encouraged to participate. Remembrance Village loves craft time. Jill is a volunteer that come once a week for activities. Each week The theme this month was Red Carpet/Hollywood Day. He even makes room visits to some of the residents. Majik loves to do tricks selected for both Assisted Living and Remembrance Village. The winners were recognized with a crown, for the residents, he brings them gifts. But most of all he shares his love with hugs, and letting all the sash and special gift.
