afternoon tea

AFTERNOON
TEA
Afternoon tea is a quintessentially British activity
which is synonymous with the culture and tradition of
the British people. Here at Lion Quays our afternoon
tea is inspired by the roots of this great pastime
and we relish in the opportunity to continue this
wonderful tradition with our afternoon tea menu.
Lady Bedford began taking afternoon tea in
1840 as a way to stay her hunger between
breakfast and dinner. This became a habit for
her and she invited her friends to join.
Afternoon tea became a particularly fashionable event
with the upper class social hostesses of society and
before long all of society were indulging in afternoon tea.
