Theoretical and Experimental Probability
What is the difference between the words theoretical and experimental? Theoretical probability is the expected probability of an event occurring. Experimental Probability is found using frequencies obtained in an experiment or game.
The theoretical probability tells us that if we roll this dice 6 times. We will roll a 1 once. Experimental probability is what we actually get after rolling the dice 6 times. A spinner: What is the theoretical probability that the spinner will land on red?
What is our experimental probability?
