Robert E. Anderson completed an undergraduate degree in Business Management
with a major in Labor Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond,
Virginia. He earned a Master of Arts in Psychology and an Education Specialist
(Ed.S.) in Community Agency Counseling at James Madison University,
Harrisonburg, Virginia. Robert is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified
Substance Abuse Counselor in Virginia and Canadian Certified Counselor and
Psychotherapist.
Robert has extensive knowledge and experience working with individuals, couples
and families in community-based settings, as a contractor for the Department of
Defense and in the private sector here in the United States and Canada. His
extensive experience includes helping people with marital issues, domestic violence
prevention, men’s issues, disenfranchised and complicated grief and bereavement
issues, life transitions, depression, anxiety and substance abuse and process
addiction. As a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, Robert has developed critical
skills in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of addiction.
Robert is a member of the American Counseling Association, NAADAC/Association
for Addiction Professionals and Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy
Association.
TPMG welcomed Robert in late July 2016. He welcomes new patients and referrals
to

an
appointment
with
him
at
his
office
location
in
Williamsburg or Newport News.
