Civil Ceremonies & Partnerships
The Shelley Suite
All of our suites and our outdoor pagoda are licensed
for civil marriages and civil partnerships.
This magnificent ballroom or suite with its ornate
ceilings, low hung chandeliers, oil paintings and
two fabulous bay windows offers a feeling of sheer
opulence. The room opens out on to our beautifully
landscaped gardens.
Arrangements will need to be made by yourself with Retford
Registry Office - 01777 708 631.
It is a stunning room that seats up to 160 for the
wedding breakfast and up to 250 guests for the
evening reception. Equipped with its own bar,
air-conditioning and dance floor, the Shelley Suite
offers privacy in stylish surroundings.
The Pagoda
Imagine the most extravagant and romantic outdoor
ceremony. Be greeted by your husband to be, waiting
for you inside a most stunning Pagoda, licensed for
outdoor ceremonies. Lighting and music are fitted
beneath the dome and the garden pathway is the
grandest of aisles for you to walk down. One of our
function suites or a marquee is used in conjunction
with ceremonies in the Pagoda for hosting the wedding
breakfast (for the ceremony itself in case of bad weather).
The Grove Suite
This elegant room provides a more informal and
relaxed atmosphere. Situated on the first floor it has
superb views over the hotel gardens. The Grove Suite
can seat up to 70 guests for the wedding breakfast
and up to 120 guests for the evening reception.

The Rufford Suite
This luxurious room positioned on the first floor has
unrivalled views over the hotel grounds. The Rufford
Suite has a Georgian bay window with heavy draped
curtains. Its half panelled walls are complemented
by a central chandelier and decorative ceiling - a
delightful room seating up to 30 guests.
Marquees
The most versatile of arrangements would be your
own personalised marquee placed in the stunning
hotel grounds. A marquee would be exclusive to you
and your guests and can seat between 100 and 250
guests for a wedding breakfast.
The Welbeck & Byron Suite
The Welbeck Suite is ideal for a more intimate
ceremony for up to 30 guests followed by a wedding
breakfast served in our beautiful Byron Suite.

The hotel gardens make a beautiful backdrop for
your wedding photographs in spring, summer,
autumn and winter. The fresh colours of spring
give way to the vibrant summer colours followed
by the mellow tones of autumn and winter.
The gardens feature an array of photographic
opportunities including the ornate Chiltern
sandstone steps and antique bandstand.
Meander along the bridal path, through the clematis
arch admiring the spring borders and the azalea
beds. The fabulous tulip tree which flowers in late
spring makes a magnificent photograph.
In winter the hotel is elegantly decorated with
festive wreaths and trees, with a warm glow from
the chandeliers, making it the perfect winter venue.

and period furniture, a spacious lounge area and
for abit of luxury, a six foot four poster bed. The
bathroom has a large mood lit bath, twin sinks and
a double walk in shower. Complimentary his and
hers dressing gowns and slipper packs and a
champagne breakfast are included in your night’s
