Before You Begin
Note - The cosmetics included in this kit are manufactured and inspected according to
highest cosmetic testing and safety standards. As with any cosmetic product, individual
sensitivity can occur. If you experience any reaction or skin sensitivity, wash off the lip
balm and discontinue use.
Getting Started
Be sure to have a supply of dry paper towels handy. To create lip balm designs, you will
also need a toothpick.
Note - when working with the lip balm, you will notice it has a slightly sticky texture. Like
all balms, this product is designed to provide a moisture-proof, protective barrier for your
lips. Use dry paper towels to remove any excess balm. Wash off any remaining residue
with warm soapy water.
When making your own cosmetics, it’s important to work with clean hands on a clean
work surface. Wash, rinse and dry the tools and containers before using. Lay a clean
paper towel over your work area, and clean up any messes right away.
Sensitive Skin Warning - If you experience
any redness or skin irritation, discontinue use.
DO NOT APPLY AROUND EYES.
Lip Gloss
The glitter, pearl and color bases work best when
they are warm. To help them flow easier, place the
tightly capped tubes into a cup of warm tap water.
Lava
Lamp
Add a squeeze of pearl base for shimmer, or a
squeeze of glitter base for sparkle – add both for
shimmer and sparkle. Finish with a squeeze or two
of color. Remember to keep the capped lip gloss
tubes in a cup of warm water so it’s easier to mix.
Stop filling
just below the
cap line.
3. Firmly hold the container in your hand. Use the stir
stick to mix the base until smooth. If you find any solid
lumps of base keep stirring.
Lava Lamp - This is the easiest lip gloss to create.
When creating new lip balm colors, you can use a
new mixing cup and stir stick. If you need to clean
them, wipe them thoroughly with a dry paper towel.
Alternate several fun colors together. Let them flow and
mix together to create a lava lamp effect. Remember,
stop filling just below the cap line.
4. Using the spatula, place the base in one of your
Lovely Layers - This one is a little harder to make.
Change colors to create layers – remember to stop
just below the cap line. Note once the sponge
applicator is in place, the layers may change a bit.

balm base into 8 portions.
2. Place one portion of the base inside a mixing cup.
GENTLY SQUEEZE the tubes – If you push too hard,
the gloss may bubble up out of the container. If this
happens, wipe away any excess with a dry paper
towel. Use the sponge applicator to clear the opening.
With the nozzle in the center of the bottle, gently
squeeze allowing the gloss to slowly drip down
without dripping along the sides. Adjust the angle of
the bottle as needed so the gloss stays in the center.
1. Use the spatula or a stirring stick to divide your lip
As you work with the base and colors, keep in mind
that exact measurements are not necessary. Adding a
little bit of this and a little bit of that is all part of the fun.
Decide on a color scheme for your gloss. If you need
ideas, look at the samples included on the box.
You need a steady hand and a little patience.
Be sure the gloss base is warm.

containers. Note – be sure you are filling the top side
of the container, not the bottom. The threads to screw
the cap on should be facing up.
The consistency of
your lip balm will

how much color,
glitter or pearl
base you add.
Do not overfill your container or your lip balm will stick
to the lid. Use your finger to smooth the top of your
lip balm. Wipe your finger on your paper towel.
TIP: Try mixing to create new colors.
