DISBURSEMENT OF YOUR SCHOLARSHIP
You will receive an all-inclusive scholarship. From this scholarship you have to pay all incurring
costs (rent, insurance fee, etc.).
The first scholarship instalment
will be paid by cheque at the OeAD Regional Office Vienna. Should you arrive after the 15th of your
first scholarship month, you will only receive half of the scholarship instalment for that month.
The following scholarship instalments:
For short-term scholarships (up to 5 months) the scholarship will be paid by cheque between the 5th
and 15th of each month.
It is also possible to receive the scholarship via bank transfer to an €uro bank account. In this case a
visit to the Regional Office each month between 10th and 25th is obligatory.
Please inform the Regional Office Vienna of your account number and bank details, and report any
changes.

Scholarship instalment for the following month will be remitted
at the beginning of the month.
Each longer absence from Vienna (for academic purposes or private reasons) has to be approved in
writing by your academic supervisor, and to be reported to the OeAD Regional Office Vienna in
advance.
If you do not inform us of your absence from your place of study, or if you do not come to the Vienna
Regional Office in person once a month, the next scholarship instalment cannot be transferred
automatically, and you may possibly lose the scholarship instalment for that month.
At the end of each semester, students of certain scholarship programmes have to submit a report
about the progress of their studies/ their academic work or their university certificates to the
Regional Office Vienna. Without this proof for the successful course of their studies, further payment
of scholarship instalments is not possible. Please consult your scholarship award letter to see
whether this rule applies to you.
The final scholarship instalment will be paid by cheque as from the 16th of the last month upon
submission of your scholarship report (signed and stamped by your academic supervisor). Should you
leave before the 16th of the last month, you will only receive half of the last scholarship instalment.
Scholarship holders of the APPEAR scholarship programme (Austrian Partnership Programme in
Higher Education and Research for Development) have to fill an abstract form instead of the
scholarship report.
If you complete your research project or your studies earlier than planned, or if you have to
terminate your studies or research in Vienna prematurely for personal reasons, please inform the
Regional Office Vienna in writing and state the reasons for this.
Please note that scholarship instalments you were not eligible to receive in the first place have to
be paid back.
