Constitution Project Directions
We’ve learned the importance of the U.S. Constitution, how it serves
as an outline of our government, and that it is the supreme law of the land.
Your job is to create a Constitution for government of a dystopian or fantasy
novel. Options to choose from include The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, The
Maze Runner, or Divergent. Use our Constitution as a model and what you
already know about the government from books or movies. Your project
must be made in Google Docs and submitted to [email protected].
The following must be included within your project:
1) Preamble: discussing the purpose of your Constitution (at least 50 words).
Please arrange the required elements of your project in the order displayed
below.
1: Title (name(s), date & project title)
2: Preamble
3: Article 1: 1st Branch (3 powers & qualifications)
4: Article 2: 2nd Branch (3 powers & qualifications)
5: Article 3: 3rd Branch (3 powers & qualifications)
6: Article 4: Amendment Process
7: Bill of Rights or Alternately Named Document
8: Summary
9: Visual
2) Three Branches of Government: identify and describe three (3) powers
that each branch of government has & the qualifications for that branch.
There must be 3 or more separate branches. They can have the same names
as our government or you can create your own.
Answer the following questions to help you plan your project.
1. Which novel will your group write a constitution for?
