1. Leadership Award
An award to an individual in a managerial or supervisory role in a thoroughbred stud or racing stable who has displayed
leadership qualities – in particular in terms of mentoring and support of colleagues in the workplace.
Prize: Trophy and €5,000 to winner and €4,000 to winner’s yard/stud (to be divided amongst stable/stud employees).
The two runners-up will receive €500 each.
2. Rider/Groom Award
An award to an individual who has shown talent for horsemanship, consistency and reliability in and out of the saddle in
a thoroughbred racing yard.
Prize: Trophy and €5,000 to winner and €4,000 to winner’s yard (to be divided amongst stable employees). The two
runners-up will receive €500 each.
3. Head Lad/Girl or Travelling Head Lad/Girl Award
An award to an individual who sets and maintains high standards of horsemanship and people management in a thoroughbred
racing yard.
Prize: Trophy and €5,000 to winner and €4,000 to winner’s yard (to be divided amongst stable employees). The two
runners-up will receive €500 each.
4. Stud Employee Award
An award to an individual who has shown talent for horsemanship, consistency and reliability in a thoroughbred stud role.
Prize: Trophy and €5,000 to winner and €4,000 to winner’s stud (to be divided amongst stud employees). The two
runners-up will receive €500 each.
5. Administration (Stud/Racing Stable/Ancillary Services) Award
An award to an individual who works in an administration role in the thoroughbred breeding and racing sector.
Prize: Trophy and €5,000 to winner and €4,000 to winner’s yard/stud/company (to be divided amongst stable/stud/
company employees). The two runners-up will receive €500 each.
6. Dedication to Racing Award
An award for an individual who has worked for a minimum of twenty years in any area of the thoroughbred breeding
and/or racing sectors and who has played a pivotal role in his or her employers’ successes.
Prize: Trophy and €2,500.
7. Newcomer Award
An award to an individual who has been working in any area of the thoroughbred racing and/or breeding sector for less
than five years and who has shown commitment to and ambition for a career in the industry.
Prize: Trophy and €2,500.
8. Ancillary Services Award
An award to an individual who works in a support services role in the thoroughbred racing or breeding sectors.
This includes veterinary practices, farriers, horse transport, sales companies, horse dentists and physiotherapists.
Prize: Trophy and €2,500.
9. Irish Racing Excellence Award
Will be presented to one of the winners of the above Awards who is, in the opinion of the judging panel, the most
deserving of recognition for their commitment, hard work and ongoing contribution to the high standards and reputation
of the Irish thoroughbred industry.
Prize: Trophy and an additional €5,000 to winner, and €5,000 to winner’s yard/stud/company (to be divided amongst
stable/stud/company employees).

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. The following terms and conditions set out the applicable terms and conditions for nomination for and participation in the Godolphin Stud and Stable
Staff Awards Ireland 2016 (the “Awards”).
2. The Awards categories are:
The Irish Racing Excellence Award (Overall Award); The Leadership Award; The Rider/Groom Award; Head Lad/Girl or Travelling Head Lad/
Girl Award; The Stud Employee Award; The Administration Award; The Dedication to Racing Award; The Newcomer Award; The Ancillary
Services Award.
Further information on each Awards category is available on the Irish Stable Staff Association (ISSA) and Horse Racing Ireland websites (the “Websites”).
3. Nominations for the Awards can be made by, but not limited to, trainers, owners, breeders, stable staff, stud staff, travelling staff and office administrators.
4. Only individuals employed full-time in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland can be nominated. Only one nomination form is required per
nominated person as the Awards are merit rather than vote based.
5. Nominations close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12th, 2016. Nominations received after this date will not be accepted.

7. All nominations must comply with the nomination guidelines which are available on the websites.
8. Incomplete nominations, or nominations that have not followed the nomination guidelines will not be accepted.
9. All nominees must have consented to be nominated and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
10. The more information the nomination form includes with regards to follow up contact details and information of previous employers and/or a secondary
contacts the better.
11. The judging panel (“the Panel”) will comprise three individuals representing Irish Stable Staff Association, two from Horse Racing Ireland including the
Judging Committee Chairperson and one from each of the following bodies/associations: The Turf Club, Irish Racehorse Trainers Association and Irish
Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association. The Panel will also include the previous winner(s) of the Irish Racing Excellence Award.
12. No member of the judging panel is eligible for nomination for an award.
13. The three shortlisted nominees for the following five categories – The Leadership Award; The Rider/Groom Award; The Head Lad/Girl or Travelling Head
Lad/Girl Award; The Stud Employee Award; The Administration Award – will be announced in advance of the Award ceremony. The winner of each Award
category will be chosen by the Panel and announced at the Awards ceremony on the evening of Tuesday, April 19th. The winner of the Irish Racing
Excellence Award will be announced at the Awards ceremony on the evening of Tuesday April 19th 2016.
14. The winners of the following categories will be selected and announced at the Awards ceremony:
The Dedication to Racing Award; The Newcomer Award; The Ancillary Services Award
15. Each finalist in the following award categories - The Leadership Award; The Rider/Groom Award; The Head Lad/Girl or Travelling Head Lad/Girl Award;
The Stud Employee Award; The Administration Award will be invited to the Awards and provided with an additional three guest tickets to the Awards
ceremony. Each winner of the following award categories – The Dedication to Racing Award; The Newcomer Award; The Ancillary Services Award – will
be invited to the Awards and provided with one additional guest ticket to the Awards ceremony. In addition, the Award nominee’s employer along with
the person who nominated them will also be invited.
16. The prize money in respect of the winners and runners-up of the Awards and their yards/studs will be paid by cheque after the Awards ceremony.
17. All prize money paid may be subject to applicable taxes and deductions.
18. All nominees may be required to participate in publicity generated for the Awards.
19. There is no alternative prize available and the judges’ decision is final.
20. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with laws of Ireland and entrants and nominees hereby submit to the
exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts in connection with any legal dispute that may arise regarding any aspect of the Awards or these terms and conditions.
