Conclusions
• Biomarkers show no evidence of biotic crisis associated with glaciations.
• Repeated ecological
shifts are associated with
glaciations. Phytoplankton
more predominant.
• Nutrient delivery a possible mechanism to connect
these phenomena. Nutrients → phytoplankton →
oxygen → animals
