during school time or on a weekend. We are
happy to fit in with your availability.
Dear Families,
Our reflection this week is dedicated to our
mothers. All mums play a vital part in our lives –
be they mothers or grandmothers. They are the
ones we seek out when we need a shoulder to cry
on or to share our good or not so good times.
This Sunday is Mother’s Day. So let us make it a
very special day for this very significant person in
our life – OUR MUM!
The photos show how excited the students were
to take part in the Bunnings excursion. We thank
Bunnings Hawthorn for this donation and
support.
The money raised last year, through the MINI
FETE will go towards soil and seedlings/plants for
our garden.
To all our mums, our grandmothers, the special
women in our lives, we hope you have a
wonderful day with your family and that you are
treated to some wonderful surprises.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
Thanks to all those who attended our
celebrations this morning. It was lovely to be
able to enjoy your company in honour of our
mums.
We welcome to our school staff Rachel McLeary
who will be teaching Health and PE at Trinity.
She replaces Eva Bukin who resigned from the
position last term. In next week’s newsletter we
will provide a photo and information about
Rachel. We look forward to her joining our
school.
On Wednesday we had a marvellous time at the
Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 Afternoon Tea. We hope
you enjoyed the time together.
On Friday, I took representatives from our
school’s sustainability group to Bunnings
Hawthorn to collect our $500 voucher which will
go towards the setup of our garden. Amelia from
Bunnings also advised us on the type of raised
garden beds that will suit our area.
We will need to organise a Working Bee to
assemble the planters. If you are able to assist
could you please complete the form attached to
this newsletter. The Working Bee can take place
th
Friday the 29 , 2016, is when Tyra, Jayd and I went to
Bunnings in Hawthorn with Miss Marchese. We went there
to get our $500 voucher and also to check out the plants we
can get for our garden patch. I felt so excited and was
thinking really hard about what we should get for our garden
patch. I actually want the plants that are good for our space
at our school and what’s best for our plants. We took
pictures together and smelled the plants. It was most fun
and amazing!

Have a great week.

EDUCATION IN FAITH
Dear Parents,
TRINITY STAFF ANNUAL VINNIES SLEEPOUT
On Thursday 23rd June 2016 the Vinnies CEO Sleepout
will be held in Victoria. This event highlights the plight
of those experiencing homelessness and asks CEOs and
community leaders to rise to the challenge and
experience homelessness for a single night. By doing
this, those participating will help raise awareness of
homelessness in Australia. All money raised will
directly
assist
Vinnie’s’
homeless
services.
Last year 3 of our Staff members representing Trinity
Catholic School participated. This year myself and my
fellow colleagues Jemima Burkinshaw, Olivia Smith,
and Sarah Trapani will be taking part in the Vinnies CEO
Sleepout 2016. The Vinnie’s community sleep out is
chance for us to really appreciate the cause we are
raising money for. This brings us to the most important
part fundraising. We will be asking for your support by
sponsoring us by making a donation for this wonderful
cause. More information will be sent home next week
on sponsoring those teachers involved.

SCHOOL COMMUNITY
CONGRATULATIONS!
Hi, my name is Anna Plackett.
I’m the new 1/2 teacher taking
over from Rachael Mandarano
who is on Parental Leave.
I moved to Melbourne at the
start of this year from the
North of England. When I left
home in December it was
snowing - It’s safe to say the
New Year heat in Melbourne
was a bit of a culture shock!
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, shopping and
watching live bands, all of which are in abundance in
Melbourne.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far and would like
to thank everyone at Trinity for making me feel so
welcome!
