Chairperson Pearson made the motion to continue the project that was seconded by Board member Tighe and continued by the following roll call vote 4-0. RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Provide more information on the existing building, including better photos and/or elevations 2. Provide a section through the proposed design, particularly at the central bay 3. The stone pattern should be more simple, and detail should be lighter, not the heavy detail shown in the drawings. 4. Stone finish should align with sill of windows in the central portion of the building. The stone can remain higher at the south portion of the front (west) façade, and can be removed from the north portion for greater differentiation. 5. Potential to reconsider the dark color of the stucco in the central portion of the building. 6. Proportion of central portion of the building should be modified. Suggestions include: 8 Architectural Review Board April 3, 2017 7. 8. 9. enlarge windows in central portion by making them taller; or provide panel over the windows to visually extend height of the windows with panel or cornice-type detail; or maintain dimension of the existing columns all the way to the roof element. 4 x 4 wood members should be used at the trellis. Review the wood-type panel proposed to ensure joints are tight and materials provides clean look Propose trees at the front that will thrive in shade- in particular the Cercidium ‘Desert Museum’ (Palo Verde tree) will not thrive in proposed location due to the canopy of the street trees. 8.
