Our library day is always on Thursday.
Check your child’s FISH Folder each day.
Homework Menus are due each Friday.
We will be launching our opinion writing unit this week.
Throughout this unit, students will be writing letters to
share ideas about their favorite book characters.
Please talk to your child about their favorite characters
and allow them to bring their favorite books to school
to use as resources.

A huge thank you to our wonderful room
mothers and supportive parents for
organizing a fabulous holiday party! The
crafts, mystery reader, and snacks were
enjoyed by all! I hope that everyone had
a relaxing and fun winter break!
What we are learning this week:

We will begin our
opinion writing
unit this week.
Students will be
writing letters to
share ideas about
their favorite
book characters.
We will be focusing on
the following patterns
this week:
*short u CVC words
(ex: trunk)
*long u sounding words
with ew (ex: new)
*long u words with ue
(ex: due)
We will be telling
time with analog and
dialog clocks.
Students will
practice telling time
to the hour, half
hour, quarter hour,
and to the nearest
five minutes using
A.M. and P.M.
We will be reviewing
Habit #4: Think
Win-Win during the
month of January.
