GENESIS CELEBRATES SILVER ANNIVERSARY
Years are only one indication of our company’s success. The real measure is in our people - the skills
they have gained and the innovations they have put forward for the benefit of our clients. Our people have
accomplished this through the creation of a work environment founded on collaboration and discovery.
We love what we do and we get things done.
TECHNOLOGY
TRENDS
Radio Frequencies in Healthcare
Radio Frequencies (RF) is wireless electromagnetic form of communication which is a part of most modern
technology systems. RF technology is starting to be used in healthcare as well; an example is the Wireless
Medical Telemetry Systems (WMTS).
WMTS is a licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the three spectrum blocks of
608–614 MHz (megahertz), 1395–1400 MHz, and 1427–1432 MHz RF ranges. RF coordination is required for
WMTS systems especially in the 1427 – 1432 MHz range which is shared by WMTS (1427 – 1429.5 MHz) and
non-WMTS devices (1429.5-1432 MHz) such as utility telemetry devices.
802.11 and Bluetooth technologies are also used in telemetry monitoring, but the FCC and the FDA ( Food
and Drug Administration are encouraging the use of WMTS as it can enhance clinical outcomes by providing
reliable data and being less invasive.
Other Common Devices and Typical RF Designation:
•
Medical Telemetry - UHF
•
TV Broadcast – VHF and UHF
•
Cordless Home Telephone - UHF
•
AM Radio – MF
•
FM Radio – VHF
•
Wireless Microphones - VHF and UHF
•
Wi-Fi – UHF and SHF
More information on RF spectrums and frequency allocations can be found on FCC, FDA and the US
Department of Commerce - National Telecommunication and Information Administration website.

CEEP (COMPANY & EMPLOYEE ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM)
Genesis Planning is committed to providing our clients with the most advanced approaches and
technologies for the management of their projects’ capital equipment and assets. As technology evolves,
today’s healthcare projects have become more complex and require the focused attention of a skilled
team that understands the full spectrum of technology considerations from selection, design, construction,
procurement and project delivery.
In response to this challenge, we have developed a structured and continuous training program that aligns
our planning methodologies with our staff’s knowledge and capabilities.
CEEP was created in 2012 to enhance the integration of our Service Lines, and develop synergies between
our Best Practice Workstreams, Technical Training, Subject Matter Expert, Mentoring, and Career Path

The success of Genesis Planning is directly correlated to the success of the individual! The CEEP is a key
component of our commitment to excellence.
