Visit Chiclayo and Trujillo, both cities are important in Peru’s history, among other small towns that will give you an insight into the real Peru and filled with stories waiting to be told. Northern Peru Adventure Itinerary Day 1: Chiclayo On arrival to Chiclayo, reception and assistance at the airport, then transfer to the hotel. Day 2: Chiclayo Visit to Túcume, an imposing 26 pyramids site of the Lambayeque culture. Also visit the site Museum, telling stories of the legendary Naylamp, founder of the Lambayeque culture. Day 3: Chiclayo Visit the magnificent mud-brick burial platform of Huaca Rajada where the world famous Tomb of the Lord of Sipan was discovered. Admire fabulous gold artifacts, precious stones and the ancient Moche civilization’s history in the site museum, where tomb 14 of the warrior priest is resting. Visit the Museo Tumbas Reales de Sipán where skeletons, surrounded by ceramics found in their tombs, are softly lit and visible to the public. Day 4: Chiclayo - Trujillo Located 34km north of Trujillo, El Brujo pyramid was built with tens of thousands of adobe bricks. Just recently a well preserved tattooed mummy of a young woman, who belongs to the Moche Royalty, has been discovered deep inside El Brujo pyramid. She has been called “Señora de Cao” and is exhibited in the Lady of Cao Museum. Day 5: Trujillo Visit Arco Iris Temple (Dragon) from the Chimu Culture, then the archeological complex of Chan Chan, the largest pre-Columbian adobe city and declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. Walls are decorated with geometric figures, animals and mythological beings.
