Saturday, 11 June, 10.30 am – 2.00 pm (coffee/tea 10am) St Andrew’s Church, Cromwell Bishop Richard Randerson will introduce a discussion based on two topics from his book, Slipping the Moorings: 10.30am: God in the 21st Century: the tides of secularism, driven along by the crusading zeal of Richard Dawkins and others, are undermining the foundations of Christian Faith. The Church needs to do more than just simply reaffirm traditional images and doctrines. This session explores the middle ground between traditional theism and atheism, with contemporary images of God. 12 noon: BYO lunch, tea/coffee provided 12.30pm: Issues facing today’s Church: this session ranges over key topics such as public and corporate ethics, new paradigms for the 21st century Church, poverty, justice, neoliberalism and Christian values, and same-sex relationships.
