PERSONAL
I was born in 1976 in North Carolina, but spent much of my childhood two miles
outside the tiny town of Redfield, Arkansas. My family entered the Catholic Church
when I was twelve years old, just before my father began what turned out to be a
two-year period of teaching at Thomas Aquinas College in California. When I
returned there for my undergraduate formation, I met and married Jacinta (Bolin)
Holmes. Over the past fifteen years of marriage we have had seven children:
Holmes, p. 7
Bernadette (16), David (14), Isaiah (12), Regina (11), Teresa (9), Faustina (6) and
Matthew (1), and we are expecting an eight. Outside of my professional work, I
enjoy writing of all kinds, piano and voice, and amateur woodworking.
