GROUP EXERCISE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS Effective January 5, 2015 Cardio BodyAttack™ This high energy class is a high/low cardio interval workout that combines energetic upbeat aerobics with strength and stabilization exercises. BodyCombat™ This is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, tae kwon do, tai chi and muay thai. BodyJam™ This is a cardio workout where you are free to enjoy the sensation of dance. An addictive fusion of the latest dance moves and the hottest new sounds puts the emphasis as much on having fun as breaking a sweat. BodyStep™ This is an energizing step workout that makes you feel liberated and alive. Using a height-adjustable step and simple movements on, over and around the step, you get huge motivation from instructors. BodyVive™ This is the low-impact group fitness workout that lets you choose just how hard you work. Using the VIVE™ balls and tubes, you're lead step by step through the entire class while listening to uplifting and inspiring music. CARDIO DANCE This is a mix of hi-lo, aerobic dance and toning to challenge or accommodate various fitness levels. CARDIO COMBO This cardio conditioning could include step, hi-lo, BOSU, kickboxing, running, jump rope or other innovative cross-training techniques. LINE DANCE A choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows, all facing the same direction and executing steps at the same time. Line Dance is also offered for our Active Older Adults group. LOW IMPACT CARDIO This is designed for variable intensity with little impact. Muscle conditioning, abs and stretch are included. Sh’Bam™ Featuring simple but seriously hot dance moves, this class is the perfect way to shape up and let out your inner star. ZUMBA This cardio-Latin fusion class features aerobic interval training to maximize fat burning and total body toning, all to incredible music with moves that are easy to learn! Family Zumba this fun filled, family interacting, fat burning cardio class offers simple trainings for all levels from ages 5 on up. Night Club Cardio The lights are low and the moves are simple, yet effective. Somewhere between the music and the Soul Train line, you begin to forget you are even working out. Mind & Body BEGINNER YOGA Build a strong body, mind and spirit through yoga. This class incorporates yoga postures, breathing exercises and a focused mind to improve balance and flexibility. Basic moves are introduced at a slower pace for beginners. BODYFLOW™ This is a yoga, tai chi and Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength, leaving you feeling centered and calm. FITBALL PILATES Using techniques developed by Joseph Pilates this class will strengthen your core muscles, improve your flexibility, posture and balance and enhance your overall sense of well being. INTERMEDIATE YOGA Build a strong body, mind and spirit through yoga. This class incorporates yoga postures, breathing exercises and a focused mind to improve balance and flexibility. Tone the body and tune the mind. Learn calmness, focus energy and regain inner peace while improving physical strength. This class will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. MAT PILATES This is a conditioning program that improves muscle control, flexibility, coordination, strength and tone. Based on proper breathing, good posture and intense concentration, the exercises are performed on a mat. YOGA builds a strong body, mind and spirit. This class incorporates yoga postures, breathing exercises and a mind focus to improve balance, strength and flexibility. Chair support or yoga props are offered to safely perform exercises. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. Strength Ballet Workout This is a strength and flexibility class designed after dance conditioning methods integrating classical ballet exercises with modern fitness concepts. BodyPump™ REAL RESULTS, REAL FAST! The original barbell class. Designed for all fitness levels, BODYPUMP delivers real results, real fast. This athletic-based workout uses barbells with adjustable weights to work every major muscle group in the body. With motivating music, BODYPUMP strengthens, tones, and defines the body as nothing else can. BOOTCAMP Modeled to resemble actual military boot camp. An instructor will lead you through a series of drills including agility, plyometrics, core training, running and strength training - all designed to shock your system. ABS/CORE Intense focus on your Core, Thighs, Abs, Buttocks, Arms, Chest and Back! Emphasis on correct breathing and form. Define, strengthen and tone your entire body. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support, stretching, and relaxation exercises. ACTIVE OLDER ADULTS CARDIO Enjoy fun, low-impact exercise as you move through a variety of exercises designed for active older adults. Increase your muscular strength and range of movement, which will help you with activities of daily living. Exercises may use hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball for resistance. Zumba Gold® was designed for the active older adults, the true beginner and/or people who are not used to exercising. The main difference from regular Zumba® is, this class is done at a lower intensity. It may not be as fast, but it is just as fun! Cycle Classes ALL TERRAIN The focus of this ride is strength building & cardiovascular conditioning, which will be achieved using varying resistance levels and cadence. The perfect training ride for indoor and outdoor biking enthusiasts. Ideal for all fitness levels. MASTERS SWIM This is an organized adult lap swim workout program which provides group training, written workouts and coaching for all levels of swimmers. Training workouts are adjusted for all levels of swimmers. Feedback is given on stroke technique, drills, sprints and endurance workouts.
