MTM and ACN Changes Coming 20 June 2015

MTM and ACN Changes Coming 20 June 2015 | Quick Guide
New Word 2007 Interface
As of June 20, 2015, MTM and ACN move from a Word 2003 interface to a Word 2007
interface.
The most noticeable area of change is at the top of the Word window. Instead of the
menus and toolbars that you used to see, you will see a Ribbon that contains many
useful Word and MTM/ACN commands arranged into groups.
The Ribbon in MTM and ACN cannot be customized.
Submit Command Now on the Ribbon
You will now find the Submit (MTM) and Sign (ACN) commands on the Ribbon, in the
File group.
Important Changes with AutoText
AutoText is now part of Quick Parts, which are user-defined building block entries in
Word.
It is important to note that there is no longer a yellow box that will appear to prompt
you to autocomplete your entry. It has been disabled in Word 2007.
Therefore you will need to know the exact name of your AutoText entry and then press
F3 to autocomplete the entry.
We highly recommend you use AutoCorrect instead of AutoText (see instructions
below.)
Save an AutoText Entry
However, if you do want to use AutoText, here are some important tips to remember.

MTM and ACN Changes Coming 20 June 2015 | Quick Guide
Limitations of Bullets and Numbering using the Ribbon
The bullets and numbering commands in the Paragraph group of the Ribbon are
disabled in MTM and ACN.
You can use the shortcut combination of Ctrl + Shift + L for a simple bulleted list but
there is no shortcut key for numbering.
We suggest that you type your bulleted or numbered list in Word 2010 and then copy
and paste into your MTM or ACN document. Once you have a copied list, you can simply
press Enter to continue that list.
However, you cannot START a bulleted or numbered list in MTM or ACN.
No Undo Button on the Ribbon
The Undo and Redo buttons are disabled on the Ribbon in MTM and ACN; however, you
can still use the shortcuts of Ctrl + Z to undo and Ctrl + Y to redo.
Quick Access Toolbar
The Quick Access toolbar has been disabled in MTM and ACN.
Custom Dictionaries
At this time, there is no ability to right-click and add a word to the custom dictionary. A
fix is currently being investigated with Cerner.
Remember that the Stedman’s Medical Dictionary is built-in to MTM and ACN.
UnProtect Not Available
At this time, there is no ability to unprotect a document in this version of MTM/ACN.
