Local, Affordable, and FUN Summer Day Camps!
For ANY youth entering grades 4 and up
Spanish Boot Camp
May 30 & 31, June 1, 6, 7, & 8, 1:00-4:00 PM, $3
Join Hickman and Fulton County youth at the Hickman County Extension Office for an intensive day camp in Spanish language and culture! Try foods from Latin American countries and
learn basic phrases and words in Spanish. This camp is limited to youth entering grade 6 and up and only
four spots are available. Transportation to the Hickman County office will be provided. Times listed include
travel times.
Sautéing, dicing, chopping, roasting, and whipping are just a few of the kitchen techniques students will learn in this fun camp. Join us to prepare fresh salsa, amazing
muffins, tasty frittata, party pizza, and more. This camp is FREE, limited to 20 youth
ages 9 and up, and will be held at the Carlisle County Extension Office.
If you love to get crafty, this is the perfect day for you! We will start out the day making a color collage and a texture collage. We will decorate a wastebasket and then
create a color scheme for a room in the home. Youth are invited to bring any craft
materials they might want from home or they can use ones available during the project day. At the end of the day, youth will have four entries for county fair exhibits.
Arts Project Day
June 29, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, $15
Do you have an artistic side? Join us for this fun project day and spend the day painting,
drawing, and more! We will paint an acrylic still life and an acrylic abstract. We will also
complete a contour drawing and a drawing using colored pencils and special blending
techniques. At the end of the day, we will complete a mixed media piece and work on a
heritage craft. Youth should leave the project day with six entries eligible for the fair.

Baking Project Day
July 11, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, $5
Join us for a day of flour, sugar, and fun! On this great day, we will get busy in the kitchen
baking a variety of recipes eligible for the fair food exhibit classes. Sign up to make
muffins, biscuits, scones, cookies, and more! Project day will be held at the Carlisle
County Extension Office. Participating youth will be able to make several fair entries that
can be entered in the fair!
BBQ Chicken Camp
July 13th from 8 AM to 3 PM/5 Dollars
Learn how to prepare charcoal, handle chicken safely, and grill half a chicken! Fun
with meals, manners, and more will make for a delicious day camp! Get outside and
get to grilling with 4-H! Camp will be held in Murray and transportation will be provided. Times include travel. Only 10 youth from our county may sign up for this regional camp, so be sure to sign up soon!
Poultry Judging Day Camp
July 14th from 7 AM to 5 PM, $5.00
Do you like chickens? This is a great opportunity to learn more about them! You will
get to study live chickens up close and personal and practice judging them for quality.
This workshop is designed for beginners, so no chicken experience is necessary! Camp
will be held in Greenville and transportation will be provided. Times include travel.
Only 10 youth may sign up for this camp, so be sure to sign up soon!
Wood Science & Horticulture Project Day
July 12, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, $10
Do you like to get your hands dirty? If so, join us for this fun project day about
wood science and horticulture! We will complete a Level 1 Wood Science project
and then plant a terrarium or dish garden (youth will choose one when they sign
up). We will then complete an environmental awareness project about composting
and dry herbs for a horticultural project exhibit. At the end of the day, we will take
horticultural pictures for the horticultural photography classes at the fair. Youth will
leave the project day with several fair entries!
Lunch will be provided at all Clover Days of Summer EXCEPT for Spanish Boot Camp.
