MEET THE FACULTY
2012 - 2013
Simon McCloskey, Head of Primary
Originally from Devon in the South West of England, I have been
teaching across the primary age range for the past 15 years.
Before embarking on a career in international education, I taught in
Plymouth in the UK. I have previously been a Primary Head
Teacher at international schools in Thailand, Tanzania and Malawi.
I am also proud to be a parent at KICS with two boys who both
attend the Primary School.
Maria Gebrial, Primary Years Program Coordinator
I am Maria Gebrial and this year I will take up the role of PYP
Curriculum Coordinator at KICS. As many members of the KICS
community know, this is my seventh year at KICS and in Sudan.
For the last six years I have been a classroom teacher, teaching in
the Junior and Infant Sections. Despite the fact that being in the
classroom with the children and teaching is my number one
passion; this year I am looking forward to working collaboratively
with all members of the teaching team. I will be involved in
'Primary' planning, to strengthen the implementation of the
programme and help to ensure that practices support improved
student performance in all areas of the curriculum.

Sabine Wildman, Little KICS
My name is Sabine Wildman and I am an Australian with German
parents. As a family, we have worked and played in Nauru,
Australia, Azerbaijan and The Bahamas. We are looking forward to
exploring new places and revisiting our favourite countries. I enjoy
reading, gardening, tasting different foods and dabbling with art
and craft activities.
Nathalie Belanger, Reception
I am from Quebec and left my home 12 years ago with my husband
Richard Carroll, to explore the world. I am a member of the Early
Childhood KICS family. I am adding to it 11 years of knowledge and
experience with children, a refillable bag of ideas and hard work. I do
my best to bring smiles and laughs at work.

Suna Daoud, Reception
My name is Sawsan Elsayed Daoud. In school I am called Mrs.
Suna. I am from Sudan and I graduated from the University of
Khartoum, Faculty of Education. I also have a Diploma in
Teaching English as a Foreign Language, from the London
Montessori Centre. I have attended many PYP workshops, some
here in Khartoum and one in Mumbai, India. I have been in this
school for 23 years, mainly teaching the Reception class with three
years experience in Nursery class. My own children went through
this school. Two of them have finished college, Selma is a doctor
now and Azza has finished a degree in marketing. Lamis is in her
fourth year of doing a marketing degree.
Shivani McAinsh, Year 1
Hi, I'm Shivani McAinsh from South Africa. I am married to Peter
McAinsh and we have a beautiful 6 year old daughter named Kieran,
who loves Sudan. I have been teaching for 12 years. Three years in
South Africa, 1 year in Thailand, and 7 years in Taiwan. This will be our
fourth year in Sudan but our third year at KICS.
Jeff Wildman, Year 1
I am an Australian, married to Sabine who is the Little KICS
teacher. I have a son, Matthew, who is studying at Erasmus
University in Holland and a daughter, Eliza, who is in Year 12 at
KICS. My interests are gardening and traveling and I love being in
the outdoors. I have taught in a wide range of situations - lower
Primary, upper Primary, special educations and specialist teacher and locations - Australia, Zimbabwe, Nauru, Azerbaijan and
Bahamas. I enjoy teaching at KICS very much.
Veronica Jenner, Year 2
I am from El Salvador but spent much of my childhood in the US. I
have taught everything from Kindergarten to Year 13, but I am a
Primary teacher at heart and at KICS I teach Year 2. My husband
teaches Science in the Senior Section and our son Eric is in Year 1.
We spent two years teaching in Mongolia; coming from Central
America, winter temperatures of minus 50 centigrade were a bit of a
shock, and I am enjoying living in a hotter climate.

Lucy Hall-Patch, Year 2
Hello! My name is Lucy Hall-Patch and I am very happy to be teaching
Year 2 at KICS this year. I am originally from Victoria, British
Columbia, Canada, but I have spent most of my adult life studying or
working in other cities in Canada and around the world. My most
recent teaching position was a combined Grade 4/6/7 class in a rural
community of 100 people in Canada, and prior to that, I taught Grade
3 in Qatar. Before obtaining my teaching degree, I taught English as a
Second Language to children in Japan. Outside of work, I enjoy
singing, reading books, cooking, riding my bike, and doing anything
outdoors. I also love to spend time with family and friends, and I am
passionate about travelling and seeing as much as I can of our
amazing planet. I am really looking forward to learning everything that
I can about life in Sudan.
Tanya Abdalla, Year 3
I am originally from Sudan and lived in Khartoum until the age of 13
after which I moved to the UK. After graduating from university with a
BA in French and Spanish, I returned to Sudan and worked as a
Classroom assistant in Hai El Matar Infant school. My experiences
there inspired me to pursue a career in teaching. I went back to the UK
to train as a teacher and spent six years teaching in London before
returning to Khartoum, to teach at KICS five years ago.
Mara Cary, Year 3
My name is Mara Cary and I am teaching Year 3 at KICS. This is my
sixth year of teaching. I taught in Scotland for one year and then
moved to Thailand, where I taught for four years in an international
school. I am Portuguese and grew up in Portugal, but I was born in
South Africa. I am married to Eduardo who is teaching PE. Everybody
I've met so far has made me feel very welcome. I am very excited to be
starting this new adventure in Khartoum.
Lamia Abdelmoneim, Year 4
This is my fourth year at KICS after previously teaching at Khartoum
American School; prior to that I was a school librarian for 13 years. I
love reading especially by the beach. I will be teaching Year 4A and
looking forward to another fantastic year at KICS.

Julieta Velazquez, Year 4
Hola! My name is Julieta and I am from Nicaragua, Central
America. This is my second year at KICS. I have two children
Julieta (6) and Silvio (3). I enjoy traveling, listening to music and
trying new foods. I am very excited to be teaching year 4 this year.
Rasha Hamid, Year 5
I was born in Budapest to an American mother and Sudanese
father, but I've lived in New York City for as long as I can
remember. I taught in Harlem, East Harlem, and Hamilton Heights
for 11 years before arriving in Sudan in 2009.
Safaa Abdelmagid, Year 5
I am a Sudanese who was born and raised in Sudan, but have
trotted around the world since and made a few homes here and
there. Like many of you, I like meeting new people and going to
new places. I'm also a Khartoum girl through and through, so I do
enjoy socializing, spending time with the family and all that comes
with it. This is my fourth year working at KICS, and I am happy to
be part of such a wonderful community.
Amanda McCloskey, Year 6
My name is Amanda McCloskey and I will be teaching in Y6. I am
married and have 2 children, Joseph Y3 and Patrick in Reception. I
am from the U.K. and have taught in London, Australia, Bangladesh,
Tanzania, Malawi and Thailand.
Michelle Russell, Year 6
My name is Michelle Russell and I will be teaching Year 6. I have
come from New Zealand along with my husband, Isaac, who will also
be teaching here at KICS and our son, Tamati. I have previously
worked at international schools in Dubai and Angola.

Randa Saeed, PYP Arabic
I am Sudanese, born and raised in Sudan. I have a 14 year old son
who is in the Seniors. I studied Economics and Development Studies
in the American University in Cairo. This is my ninth year at KICS and
I teach Arabic in the primary section. Recently I got my masters
degree in International Education from Endicott College in
Massachusetts. I love to travel, read and shop.
Lama Masri, PYP Arabic
Hi, my name is Lama and I come from the Palestinian Occupied
Territories. I was born in Jerusalem and lived most of my life there. I
have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the
University of Bir Zeit and a Cambridge International Diploma for
Teachers and Trainers. I have three sons and one daughter and they
are 3, 7,10 and 12 years old. This is my 9th year in Sudan and my 7th
at KICS.
Wadiaa Elsharief, PYP Arabic
My name is Wadiaa Elshareif and I am Sudanese. I was a lecturer
in Sudan University College for Girls. This is my second year at
KICS and I teach Arabic in the Primary Section.
Sarah Pinney, PYP Art
I moved to Khartoum with my husband and children and we have all
been impressed by the warmth of the KICS community welcome.
Having previously worked in the UK and China, I am looking forward
to the inspiration that living in Khartoum will bring to my trio of creative
subjects. This is my second year at KICS.

Beau Stocker, PYP Music
Hi, I'm Beau Stocker, a professional drum set percussionist of 20
years and percussion instructor of 15 years. I've performed in my
home country of Canada as well as the UK, Europe and most recently
Khartoum Sudan. A teaching career that began as a private
percussion instructor, then added EFL educator, has recently adapted
to primary years music educator in the KICS community. My academic
experiences have awarded me honors graduate of the Humber
College Music program (Toronto, Canada), BFA recipient from York
University (Toronto, Canada), and MA graduate from the University of
York (UK). In addition to Primary Music educator at KICS, I am the
Percussion Lecturer at the Sudan University's College of Music and
Drama and Percussionist for Sudanese composer Kamal Yousif and
Sudanese fusion jazz group "Blue".
Isaac Russell, PYP PE & ODE
My name is Isaac Russell and I will be teaching O.D.E and Primary
Physical Education. I am originally from Aotearoa (New Zealand)
and have joined KICS with my wife Michelle and son Tamati. We
have taught at Luanda International School in Angola, and Uptown
primary in Dubai. We are looking forward to teaching here at KICS
and living in Africa again.
Eduardo Cary, PYP PE
Hi, my name is Eduardo Cary and I'll be teaching primary physical
education this year. I've worked in Portugal, Scotland, Thailand and
I'm now starting my 11th year of teaching here at KICS. I enjoy
being active by swimming, running, and playing different sports. I
believe that exercising and eating healthy should be a priority for
children and should be fun for them so they become active and
healthy individuals.
Agnieszka Huegel, Student Support Services
I was born and raised in Poland, moved to Germany at the age of 15,
where I graduated with a degree in Physical Education. I taught PE in
International schools in Berlin, Munich and Jeddah. I am now
finishing my Masters Degree in Special Need Education. I am
married to Christian and have two wonderful daughters. In Sudan I
spend most of my spare time on the Jebel Awlia Lake kitesurfing and
enjoying time with my family.

Angie Jeary, EAL Teacher
I am originally from the UK, but have spent my teaching life abroad in
different countries. My association with KICS was cemented back in
Rio de Janeiro where I was previously working. My then colleague,
Tom Gething had helped build and teach at the school. His passion
was contagious and thanks to him, here I am enjoying my third year at
KICS. This year I am supporting the children who are using English
as their second or third language throughout Primary. I am also
guiding the Primary Student Council and overseeing the Community
Service projects throughout KICS.
Jennifer Heeley, Student Support
I was born and brought up in England. I completed a BEd(Hons) at
Southampton University before beginning my teaching career in
London, UK. I had always wanted to work overseas and teaching
gave me this opportunity. I have worked in Kuwait, Vietnam and
Egypt, where I met my husband, Darryl, who is the Head of Senior
Section. Together we moved on to live and work in Ecuador,
Germany and Cyprus, before coming to Sudan. I have worked at
KICS for 3 years in Early Years, but have made a decision to switch
careers. I have returned to University to study for MA Special
Needs and am very much looking forward to working in the Student
Support Services.

Darryl Davies, Head of Seniors
I was born and raised in Birmingham, England, although most of my
family is Welsh. I completed my degree and PhD in Manchester, UK
before moving into teaching. I taught in Derby, UK, for 3 years before
deciding that a change was needed and moving to Egypt, where I
taught for 3 years and met my wife. From Egypt, we moved to
Ecuador, Germany and finally Cyprus before coming to Sudan. I am
married to Jenny who is working in Student Support Services.
Carolyn Gedling, Senior Curriculum Coordinator
I am looking forward to this my third year at KICS. I have worked in
previously in Japan and Australia. This year, again, I will be teaching
IB Diploma History (Years 12-13) as a member of the Senior School
Humanities Department. Additionally, I am the Senior Curriculum
Coordinator Years 7-13 as well as IB Diploma Coordinator. Some of
my favourite pastimes include: travelling, cooking and eating,
reading, watching films, photography, go to the beach and the gym.
Jeffrey Duckett, Director of Educational Technology
My name is Jeff Duckett and I am your Director of Educational
Technology at KICS. I am originally from Northern California where I
attended San Francisco State University as an undergrad. I received
my teaching credential from the College of Notre Dame and since
then have been living and working overseas, first in Cairo, then in
Dubai and now in Khartoum. My wife Debbie and I have one son,
Ethan who is 5 and attends KICS. My roles as an educator have
ranged over the past 18 years from early childhood and elementary
education to technology integration specialist. I look forward to
getting to know you all over the course of this school year.
Natasha Winnard, Guidance Counsellor
This year I am working in the Student Support Services Department
as a Guidance Counsellor. This is a new whole school position at
KICS and one that I am very excited about! As part of this role I will
be supporting students and families facing challenges that are
beyond the normal day to day social and emotional issues that young
people face. I will also be working very closely with Reem Heakal, the
College Counsellor, to guide Senior Section students with careers
and college counseling. When I am not working part time at KICS I
am studying. I also enjoy spending time with my husband Nigel, our
son George and time with friends. I am a keen swimmer, enjoy
pilates, horse riding and this year I plan to learn to play the piano and
start to play tennis and row again. I also love planning trips home to
England and holidays!

Clare Kybird, Library Manager
I am the KICS library manager. I have been a librarian my entire
career and have worked in many different libraries; my last post was in
a men's prison. I love libraries and I am really looking forward to the
amazing KICS libraries and continuing the work with my colleagues.
This is my 6th year at KICS.
Reem Heakal, College Counselor and CAS Coordinator
I am Egyptian and have been living in Sudan for 7 years. My
husband is half German, half Sudanese and we have two children;
Tamara is 3 years old and Sharif is 6 years old. I enjoy reading and
playing tennis, I am the College Counselor and Bussines studies
Teacher, and also responsible for the Model UN programme and
the Senior Student Council.
Ranmali Hapugalle, Head of Art
I am Sri Lankan and did most of my higher studies in North America. I
got involved in international education quite by chance. I am looking
forward to continuing my enjoyment in teaching Art, as well as
engaging in activities that promote international education, and
education in general. I have experience in working with students in
numerous contexts, including the International Baccalaureate
programs with various age groups in the USA, Sri Lanka, and
Morocco. I have diverse interests and truly look forward to working at
KICS as well as living in Sudan.
Geoff Cresswell, Drama Teacher
Since a teenager I have been passionate about drama and theatre
and this passion has been one of the main driving forces of my life. I
have a Drama degree from Bristol University, a teaching qualification
from Bretton Hall and I was also a trainee theatre director with the
Bristol Old Vic.
I have taught in the international sector for over thirty years and am
also a respected theatre director and practitioner. I have worked all
over the world and am sensitive to, and experienced at dealing with
the diverse 'needs' and challenges that international students face. I
have spent the last two years working in Saudi Arabia and am familiar,
therefore, with the challenges and wonder that working in a Muslim
culture offers.

Robert Denzel, Music
I am the Senior School Music Teacher teaching Years 7-11 Music.
Besides that I am also the director of KICS Band Programme. I direct
and teach the instruments of the band as well as piano in the
Instrumental Tuition Programme (ITP). This is my seventh year and I
am enjoying very much my work in KICS. I have several major goals
for the Music Programme in the years ahead, namely having a Gold
KICS Band; establishing the Associated Board of Royal Music
Schools external graded auditions for music students; joining the
Association of Music International Schools; recording our first CD for
public enjoyment.
Jacqueline Corbett, Design Technology
My name is Jacqueline Corbett and I am from the United Kingdom. I
have been teaching since 2004 and this is my fifth year teaching
abroad. I have taught Art/Design Technology in the UK. The Ukraine
and Qatar. At KICS I will be teaching mainly Design Technology and a
small percentage of Art.
Annie McKeagg, Head of Physical Education
My name is Annie McKeagg. I am from New Zealand. I am 46 years
young. KICS is my first international posting. I arrived here in January
2010. I am the head of the PE department. We have a great team and
the students are a pleasure to teach. My interests include kayaking,
cycling, mountain biking and tramping. Those activities I do in
NZ….it's a little bit different in Sudan! I spent 5 years teaching in NZ
as PE and Outdoor Education teacher.
Christian Huegel, PE Teacher
I was born in Berlin and lived in Madrid, Spain till the age of 16. I
finished university in Berlin as a sports scientist. I worked as a
teacher in International Schools in Berlin, Munich and Jeddah. I have
two daughters aged 3 and 7. I am married to Agnieszka. I enjoy
soccer, outdoor sports and tennis.

Graeme Schnarr, Head of Humanities
This is my second year at KICS as Head of Humanities and I will be
teaching Geography again from Years 10-13 and ToK. I am from
Toronto, Canada and have worked previously in Bangkok and
Shanghai. My interests and hobbies include loud music, travel and
politics/current events.
Peter McAinsh, Humanities
My name is Peter McAinsh and I teach MYP humanities. I have
taught in South Africa, Thailand, Taiwan and now here in Sudan.
This is my fifth year in Sudan but my fourth at KICS. My daughter,
Kieran is in Year 4 and my wife is teaching Year 1. I am a
committed environmentalist and love water sports and playing with
my wee girl.
Imogen Van Der Bijl, Humanities
I previously taught for five years in Ho Chi Minh City at an International
School. Before that I worked in New Zealand and Hong Kong. This is
my second year in KICS and I will be teaching in the Senior Section. I
teach Humanities and I'm a History specialist. I shall also be a
Homeroom teacher. In my spare time I really enjoy reading,
photography, travelling and riding.
Charles Adams, Humanities
This year, my forty-seventh in a school classroom, is being
devoted to Years 7 and 8 Humanities, as well as a variety of
responsibilities in the Student Support Services Department. A
Year 8 homeroom is also under my charge. Sudan is the tenth
country in which I have taught, and I have experienced teaching
assignments from Year 2 to Year 11. Photography and travel are
my two major hobbies. Working and living in a variety of cultures
has given me an understanding and appreciation of the fears,
troubles, joys and hopes that we all share. I have been blessed
with two fine sons and three grandchildren.
Jonathan Burslem, Head of Science
I am joining KICS this year as Head of Science and will be teaching
Physics and Science in the senior section. I taught for sixteen years in
the UK before moving to teach in Ankara, Turkey in 2010. KICS will be
my second overseas job and I'm very much looking forward to living
and working in Sudan. I am married to Amina who also works in the
senior section of KICS.

Richard Koesterer, Chemistry Teacher
I am from the United States, and retired after a teaching career at
Coastal Carolina University, South Carolina, and Kenyatta
University in Nairobi, Kenya. Most recently I taught I.B. Chemistry
for two years at the International School of Florence, Italy. Prior to
that I taught A.P. Chemistry at the International School of Port of
Spain, Trinidad. I enjoy tennis, fishing and SCUBA diving in my
spare time. My wife, Theresa, works in Student Services. I look
forward to teaching the I.B. Diploma Chemistry and IGCSE
chemistry courses this year and seeing as much of Sudan as
possible.
Tom Jenner, Science Teacher
I love my home city of Bristol in the UK, but the draw of other cultures
and my passion for natural history has kept me away for the last 13
years. I spent 9 wonderful years in El Salvador and 2 more in
Mongolia. This is my third year at KICS, where I teach General
Science and Biology. I work as an amateur ornithologist, researching
some of the lesser-known species in the country and maintaining a
blog on birding in Sudan. I train at a local boxing club, but age has
slowed my reactions and I now come home with a lot more bruises
than I used to. My wife Veronica teaches Year 2.
Amina Burslem, Science & ToK
I am happy to be joining the Science Department at KICS, where I
will be teaching Science and Biology. I will also be helping DP
students fulfill their CAS requirements and I will be teaching TOK
too. My other home is in Derbyshire, England, where I have taught
various subjects, including Science, Humanities, Religious Studies
and Psychology for 16 years before moving to Ankara with
Jonathan, where I taught Biology and TOK and was a CAS
advisor. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and find
out more about Sudan.
Clare Orlando, Head of Mathematics
I was born in the UK but spent much of my childhood in Sudan. I
went to Clergy House School and Unity High School. I've taught
Maths for 18 years, in the UK and in international schools in
Malaysia, Syria and Tanzania, as well as doing two years VSO in
Kilifi, Kenya. I'm married to Antonio and we have two daughters,
Chloe and Gemma, going into Years 7 and 5.

Elias Shashati, Mathematics
I am Elias Shashati. I started teaching in 1974 at the Catholic Sisters'
School, then at Unity High in 1983 till 2006 when I joined KICS.
Antonio Orlando, Mathematics
I was born and raised in Dover, UK and my teaching career has taken
me from Carshalton and Croydon in the UK to Kilifi (Kenya), Aleppo
(Syria), Kuala Lumpur and Dar es Salaam. I taught maths for 18 years
and then retrained to teach at Elementary level. This is my 3rd year in
the Math department at KICS this year. I'm married to Clare (maths)
and have two daughters, Chloe and Gemma, going into Years 7 and
5.
Quazanne Van Der Bijl, Maths teacher
I was born in Pretoria, South Africa and raised in Namibia but consider
Cape Town, South Africa my home-town. This is where I studied and
started my working life. I have spent 4 years in Abu Dhabi teaching
Physics, Mathematics and Art. This year I will be teaching Science to
Year 8 and Mathematics to Years 7,9, 11 and 12. While Sudan is quite
different from the Africa I am familiar with I am happy to be back on the
continent of my home and I look forward to exploring more of the area
and getting to know the people.
Richard Carroll, Head of Modern Languages
Is originally from Canada, is starting his third year of teaching at KICS
and has taught around Asia for 11 years. He has taught a multitude of
subjects at every level from Year 1 to Year 13. He is married to
Nathalie who is a Reception teacher and they have two sons, Yacob
and Tristan, who are in Year 5 and 4 respectively. He keeps himself
busy with horse-riding, playing badminton and cooking.
Philippe Durant, French Teacher
I am Philippe Durant, 54 year old, Belgian citizen and I teach French
at KICS. Sudan is my 13th country of residence and I have worked in
International Schools since the late 8Os. I have three lovely
daughters, all independent now, and two grand-sons. When I am not
in my French class, I enjoy photography, cinema and music but I also
try to do a lot of sports such as tennis and volleyball.

Fawatih Ali Ahmed, Arabic
Graduate of Khartoum University 1977. Holder of many
Development Courses Certificates in Teaching English language
and Methodolgy such as, Master Teacher Certificate, Power Point
& Presentations, Leadership & Development Progamme,
Educational Events & Conference Planning, Young Learners
Certificate, First Prize in Using the Internet in the Classroom in
addition to Certificates of attendance to many international
conferences & workshops.
Rogaya Ibrahim, Arabic
My name is Rogaya Ibrahim. I am working as an Arabic teacher in the
Senior Section. I am married and I have one son and a few daughters.
I have been living out of Sudan for 28 years (10 in Saudi Arabia and
18 in the UAE ) I have a teaching diploma and I used to teach in
different schools in the UAE; Finally I came back to Sudan with my
daughters who are studying at University.
Salwa Arian, Arabic
I was born in Omdurman and I had all my education in Khartoum.
I got specialized in teaching Arabic language and I attained a
master Degree in General Translation from Juba University . I
worked as an Arabic teacher in Sisters' School and Unity High
school, and now I am joining your privileged school. I enjoy
reading Arabic novels for famous authors such as Nagib Mahfouz
and Taha Hussien
Allison Taylor, Head of English
Hi I'm Allison. I am a kiwi who likes travelling, reading and the
occasional bit of exercise mainly in the form of golf, walking and
swimming. I have been teaching for 30 years and still like the
challenge of helping young people learn.
Evie Togi Vaogo, English Teacher
My name is Evelise Togi Vaoga but everyone calls me 'Evie'. I am
a New Zealand born Samoan who has worked 10 years in NZ, 4
years in Manila and 2 years in Cairo. As an English teacher in the
Senior School, I love to read (of course) but I also enjoy sports
and the performing arts. I have coached boys and girls volleyball,
and boys' 'real' rugby. This is my first time in Sudan and I look
forward to a rewarding yet challenging experience.

Helen Adams, English Teacher
I received my training at Moscow State University, Thames Valley
University and Edinburgh University. I did my PhD and worked as a
MSU professor of English for twenty-four years. I worked at eight
international schools before KICS and have taught students from five
to seventy-five. My hobbies are, theatre, swimming, cycling,
photography and walking. I swim 1000 metres every time I exercise in
the swimming pool and walk or cycle 10 kilometres every night in
summer. I swim in the cold Atlantic Ocean in Maine, USA and love it.
Elona Bastion, Student Support Services
I am the Head of the Student Support Services Department. This
entails supporting both students and teachers from Little KICS all the
way through to Grade/Year 13. Support is given in may ways;
sometimes through Learning Support within the classroom, teacher
consultation and or workshops and sometimes withdrawal programs
where small groups or one on one assistance is used. We also have
a support network for Gifted and Talented Students and a goal of
Personalised Learning in all classrooms. I look forward to meeting all
the students and as many parents as I can.
Luke Pinney, EAL
This is Luke's second year at KICS where he teaches Seniors EAL
and Science. He is married to Sarah with two daughters, Chloe (13)
and Hannah (11). Prior to KICS, Luke taught for four years in China.
Theresa Koesterer, Achievement & Assessment Coordinator
I am a member of the Student Support Services Department at
KICS working with students school-wide in the area of Gifted and
Talented. I will also spend time working on the school's achievement
and assessment program throughout the school. I am originally
from the USA and am a retired educator from the State of South
Carolina. I have a total of 40 years working in schools in America
and internationally. I recently moved here from Florence, Italy along
with my husband, Rich, who is the KICS Chemistry teacher.

2012 - 2013
David Hancock, KICS Stables
I am the riding instructor at KICS Riding School. I joined the school in
January 2011. My aim is to make riding instructional, fun and safe for
all riders. I have a wide range of equestrian skills and was fortunate
enough to represent Great Britain in the Eventing team.
Jill Ellis, KICS Stables
I have been stable manager here since January 2011. Previously I
have worked in racing and horse welfare. I have extensive
experience in all stable management aspects. My aim is to
encourage others to learn from the knowledge I have gained.
