What is Round Up for FSU? Round Up for FSU is a philanthropic initiative. Round Up for FSU was launched by Florida State University’s Office of Business Services. Round Up for FSU gives customers at specific campus retail locations the opportunity to “Round Up” their purchases to the nearest quarter. The difference will be donated to a worthy cause. Rounding Up is conducted solely on a voluntary basis, and only applies to point of sale purchases with cash, credit, and debit. Where can you Round Up for FSU? Upon checkout, customers can voluntarily round up their purchases at the following locations: The FSU Bookstore and Seminole Sportshop Seminole Dining Retail Locations Don Veller Seminole Golf Course and Club The UPS Store How can you Round Up for FSU? Upon checkout at specific campus retail locations, customers will be given the option to round up their purchase to the nearest quarter. If the patron chooses to do so, their purchase will be Rounded Up to the nearest 25¢. Once the new amount is paid for and the transaction is complete, the difference will be automatically donated to the FSU Food for Thought Food Pantry. When can you Round Up for FSU? The Round Up for FSU initiative began July 1, 2016 and run through the summer of 2017. A check will be presented to the FSU Food for Thought Food Pantry during the fall 2017 semester. Who Benefits, and why is FSU undertaking Round Up for FSU? The Round Up for FSU initiative benefits the FSU Food for Thought Food Pantry. The Office of Business Services and FSU recognize that food Insecurity is a growing trend on college campuses across the country. According to Feeding America, 49.3 percent of Feeding America’s clients in college must choose between educational expenses (i.e., tuition, books and supplies, rent) and food. It is important to look at the efforts being made to provide healthy options to the members of our community in need of food assistance. Through this Round Up initiative, FSU is helping to answer this need.
