DE-ICING AGENT Bleu-Fuzion® Liquid Additive for De-Icing Salt ll Product Description Bleu-Fuzion® is a mix of liquid magnesium chloride (30% concentration) and a natural additive (corn-based carbohydrate) combined with a corrosion inhibitor and blue dye. During treatment, Bleu-Fuzion® coats each grain of salt, which optimizes its efficiency while lowering its impact on equipment and the environment. ll Application Rate The recommended quantity for treatment is 30 liters per metric ton of salt. Treated salt should be stored indoors or protected from the elements by a tarp. ll Availables Sizes Bleu-Fuzion® treated de-icing salt is available in bulk and in 10 kg, 20 kg, and 1,000 kg bags. ll Technical Data Chemical Composition MINIMUM (%) MAXIMUM (%) 28 32 0.3 0.25 0.25 3.5 0.5 0.7 Magnesium Chloride (MgCl2) Sulfates (SO4) Potassium (K) Sodium (Na) Other Chemicals ELEMENT Total phosphorus Cyanides (CN) Arsenic (As) Copper (Cu) Lead (Pb) Mercury (Hg) Chromium (Cr) Cadmium (Cd) Baryum (Ba) Selenium (Se) Zinc (Zn) Ammonium (NH4) Molybdenum (Mo) QUANTITY (mg/l) < 10 < 0.05 < 3.00 < 0.10 < 0.50 < < < < < < < < 0.05 0.10 0.15 10 0.30 10 0.00 15 Physical and Chemical Properties Toxicity: Comparison of the Toxicity of Magnesium Chloride and Certain Common Chemicals CHEMICAL Sodium cyanide LD50 (mg/kg) 6 (very highly toxic) Caffeine 192 Aspirin 1,000 Potassium Chloride 2,600 Sodium Chloride 3,000 Sodium bicarbonate 4,220 Magnesium Chloride 8,100 (weakly toxic) Vitamin C 11,900 Density: 1.27 to 1.31 kg/l (1.29 kg/l for a 30% solution) pH: 6-9 (5% solution) Color: Bleu-Fuzion®’s unique blue color helps you see the amount of salt applied on icy roads. Its dark shade also helps absorb sunlight and thus provide the heat (energy) the salt needs to begin the melting process.
