Dear Parents,
Welcome to a new year of Religious Education at the Church of the Epiphany. Our
focus is to provide a solid religious foundation of our Catholic faith for all of our students,
and to encourage our wonderful families to live their faith daily.
The Religious Education schedule is attached. It is our sincere hope that you will find
this helpful when planning your social activities or family events. Since the number of
Religious Education classes is minimal compared to the number of hours our children
spend in sports, dance or other similar activities , we respectfully ask you to make the
times scheduled for Religious Education a priority. Most important is your weekly
participation as a family at Sunday Mass. Attendance at Mass will be verified using the
weekly envelope system. If your child must miss a class, please send an email to me,
so I can alert their teacher.
On the first Sunday of every month, we will have a Family Mass, which will be required
for Grades 1-10. It will be at 10:45 a.m. This Mass will allow us to “slow down” the
Mass, and explain different sections of the Mass each time. Our Knights of the Altar
students will be serving these Family Masses. We will be asking for volunteers for
reading, singing, and helping with collections.
There will also be service projects available during the year for your children to
participate in. Some examples are helping at the picnic in September, the designing and
decorating of our Christmas trees, helping to package hats and gloves for the needy, or
simply making “Thinking of You” cards for our own homebound parish family.
CHURCH OF THE EPIPHANY CCD REGISTRATION 2015‐2016 This year, our goal is to have every grade in class. This will only happen if we have
enough volunteer teachers & helpers. Please ask how you can help make this another
successful religious education year!
Grades 9 and 10 are preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation as required by the
Archdiocese of Hartford. Parents are required to attend the classes with their student.
