Agoge comes from the Greek language and means education or training. Agoge aims to enrich and perfect the entire human being. It is the development of the mind and the molding of the character. Virtue, excellence, honor, beauty and heroism are some of the aspects involved with the pursuit of education. They are achieved by good teaching and proper example. In ancient Sparta, girls and boys were required to enter training at the age of seven. The agoge could last a few days for some, and months for others depending on how they proved themselves in training. Skill is a prerequisite. Acceptance into the agoge means you already have the potential to be great; the agoge will simply temper you into the total warrior. (Dress-up / Black & White Attire) 8:30 – 9:30 pm Community Building Activity All Residence Halls www.nsu.edu Achieving Excellence. Success Beyond Measure.
