EARTH/MOON/SUN FOLDABLE DUE: TEST DAY ( BLACK = OCTOBER 2 or GOLD = OCTOBER 3 ) Materials: 1 piece of legal paper, 1 piece of regular size paper, glue & scissors 1. Fold the legal sized piece of paper in half… Open & then fold each outside edge to the middle line. 2. Cut out the diagram of the MOON… now cut the moon in HALF à Glue each half of the moon to the front of the foldable 3. LABEL THE FRONT OF THE FOLDABLE: A. THE MOON B. Write your NAME, CLASS PERIOD & DUE DATE on the front cover.. BOTTOM LEFT SIDE 4. Open the front doors. 5. Cut out the picture of the MOON PHASES à Glue the moon phases picture to the INSIDE MIDDLE SECTION 6. Cut out the diagram that shows SUN- EARTH rotation/revolution à Glue this picture to the LEFT FLAP of the foldable 7. Fold your regular sized piece of paper hotdog/length wise. Match it up to the RIGHT side of your foldable.. You will need to trim off excess paper. à Open paper.. cut the LEFT HALF…ONLY.. INTO 3 horizontal tabs à Glue the right half onto the right side of your foldable à Label TOP TAB = DAY à Label MIDDLE TAB = YEAR à Label BOTTOM TAB = SEASONS 8. Shut the foldable… now flip the entire thing FACE DOWN à Label the BACK = TIDES NOW YOU ARE READY TO START COPYING IN THE DATA BELOW TO YOUR FOLDABLE!!! INSIDE LEFT SECTION- write on the picture of the Sun-Earth: 1. Copy the following around the picture: A. THE SHAPE OF THE EARTH’S ORBIT IS AN ELLIPSE B.
