Your guide to Alive Gymnastics

at Lynnsport
Your guide to Alive Gymnastics
Children from the age of 18 months have fun and develop their gymnastics skills under the guidance of fully qualified
coaches in the first class facilities at Lynnsport.
Gymnasts progress through the British Gymnastics award schemes and talented gymnasts are invited to train with our
elite squads and develop their skills even further.
The British Gymnastics Award Schemes provide the foundation for teaching high quality gymnastics in a fun, friendly
and progressive way. Certificates and badges are awarded to those gymnasts who successfully complete each award.
Tumble Teds
These classes are for pre-school children and follow the
British Gymnastics Fundamental award scheme.
Classes are split into age groups, 18 months-3 years
is a parent and toddler session and 3-5 years is an
independent child session where the parent remains on
the viewing balcony. The gymnast will progress to the
older group when they have turned 3 and places are
available.
The British Gymnastics programme teaches the young
gymnast to acquire essential physical, social and
emotional life skills and is centered around 16 themes
with songs, colours and counting to support movement
skills. On successful completion of each theme the child
will be awarded a badge and certificate.

Junior Gymnastics
The Proficiency Core Gymnastics Award scheme is for
gymnasts aged 5 years and upwards assisting in the
progressive development of core skills such as balance,
strength, flexibility and co-ordination and incorporates
compulsory pulse raising activities. There are 10 types
of activity and 8 levels of attainment, badges and
certificates are awarded following the completion of each
grade starting at grade 8 and progressing to grade 1.
Talented gymnasts are invited to train with the elite
training squads and compete for King’s Lynn Gym Club.
The club has training squads in Acrobatics and Tumbling
and has an enviable record competing at County,
Regional and National level, in addition to friendly inhouse competitions.
Acrobatics is a discipline where gymnasts work in pairs
and groups using an Olympic size floor creating a routine
of dance, tumbling and balancing elements.
Tumblers create a run of somersaulting elements linked
together and performed on a tumble track.
The requirements of joining King’s Lynn Gym Club can be
found on page 4.
Alive Gymnastics Programme
The gymnastics programme is a continuous booking
where gymnasts are continually assessed. Speed of
progression will vary depending upon the individual and
all gymnasts will progress when the competencies of
the grade have been consistently achieved. The coach
will tell the gymnast when they have passed the grade,
you will receive an email to notify you of progression to
the next stage and you will need to contact reception to
arrange the new lesson. Please ensure we have your
current email address so we can contact you.
Payments for 12 week blocks can be topped up at
any time. We will send email reminders when your
subscription is due to end but please be aware that you
must top up before the last class to keep your place.
If payment is not received by the start of the last class
the gymnast will lose their place which will be offered
immediately to the next child on the list.
Badges and certificates where applicable are all included
within the fees, these will be presented by the coach
when the grade has been achieved.
