This week we began our study of Ancient Egypt,
studied the short story The Lottery, and started our
argumentative writing. We will continue and finish our
short story unit along with our entire STEAM unit
over these next two weeks before the break. The
students were briefed on the short stories they could
choose from and will present to the class an in depth
look at it based on the literary elements we will be
discussing next week. The students will create a book
trailer and will be awarded based on certain criteria at
our “Academy Awards” event on Dec. 14th .
The students are developing their skills in
argumentative writing. WARNING: they may or may
not use some of these skills in their favor with you;)
In math the students began taking their mid year
assessment on i-ready. Their results will determine all of
their assignments on i-ready since it differentiates
based on skills they need the most help with.
