Chameleon
Dolphin
Although dolphins resemble
fish in many ways, their
mammal characteristics
include being warmblooded, breathing air, and
nursing their young on milk.
They are among the fastest
animals in the sea,
swimming at speeds of up
to 25 miles per hour.
Tree Frog
Unlike regular frogs, tree
frogs have expanded disks
at the tips of their toes that
enable them to cling tightly
to vertical surfaces. Some
species are able to change
color in response to
temperature and light.
The chameleon changes
color when it is frightened
or in response to light,
temperature and other
environmental changes. It
has a long, sticky tongue
which darts into the air to
catch insects, and its toes
are divided into opposable
sets of two and three digits
to enable it to grasp branches.
Parrot
Parrots have curved,
hooked bills and short legs.
Their first and fourth toes
are turned backward, so
they walk awkwardly but
are excellent climbers.
Parrots are among the most
intelligent of birds, with the
ability to imitate human
speech and solve puzzles.
