GTQG November BOM 12 1/2” unfinished block Dutchman’s Puzzle Cut 16 pieces Background fabric (light cream) 3 1/2” squares. Cut 4 pieces of the dark gold 3 1/2” x 6 1/2” rectangles Cut 4 pieces of the lighte gold 3 1/2” x 6 1/2” rectangles Directions: 1. Place 1) 3 1/2” x 6 1/2” dark gold rectangle face up on the sewing surface. 2. Place 1) 3 1/2”cream square on left side of the rectangle mark diagonally from outer corner to center. Sew just to the left of the line. Fold back the gold making sure it lines up with the rectangle. Press and trim the seam to 1/4. 3. Place 1) 3 1/2” cream square to the other end of the rectangle. Mark diagonally to the center (overlap should be 1/4” at the top). Sew just to the right of the line, fold back the gold , press and trim. True up to 3 1/2 x 6 1/2” segment. (as done in 2) 4. Add a light gold rectangle to the top of that segment with a 1/4” seam. 5. Add 3 1/2” cream square to the left of that rect. Mark & sew as in 1. 6. Add 3 1/2” cream square to the right of that rect. Mark & sew as in 2. True up this unit to 6 1/2” square. Make 4 of these units, sew together with 1/4” seams you will get the block as pictured. Block should measure 12 1/2” square.
