Abstract
The backup of recordings or the mirror track recording of playback / live images can produce video files in various file formats.
The following factors can influence the file format:

Point of execution (at the recorder or via network)
Software (PView, ActiveX)
Transmission method (e.g. UDP, PRemote, etc.)
This document gives an overview on the resulting file formats depending on the factors
mentioned above.

Basics
Basically there are three methods to make a backup:

Formats
Mirror track
A mirror track recording is the storage of the currently displayed video by a client (PView,
ActiveX). A mirror track recording can be made with a live video and with the playback of a
recording as well.
