2013 CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Philosophy
Beautifully balanced, with attractive aromas of black fruit and spice, this smooth,
ready to drink cabernet sauvignon is made with the same care as the highest quality,
traditionally crafted Bordeaux styled wines. Our grapes are hand-picked and then
sorted by the berry for consistent quality and flavor. JUSTIN Cabernet Sauvignon
then spends more than a year in traditional small oak barrels to impart a depth and
complexity, expressing the influence of ancient limestone soils and the unique climate
of Paso Robles and bringing out a classic cabernet character in this exceptional wine.
Vintage Notes
The 2013 vintage started with a very dry winter followed by a warm, dry and early
spring. The weather turned hot in late May and staying that way through July. The
first 10 days of August were cooler and slowed things a bit, but the heat returned
and we began harvesting on August 19, making 2013 our fifth earliest harvest start
in JUSTIN history. September and October gave us perfect conditions to harvest
each of our cabernet sauvignon parcels when they showed perfect maturity, ripeness and acidity with harvest ending in early November.

Appearance: Clear with a dark ruby purple core lightening at the rim.
Aroma: Aromatic with ripe black cherry, blackcurrant and berry fruit with vanilla,
cinnamon and subtle dried fall leaf accents.
Palate: Classic cabernet flavors with moderate plus blackcurrant, cherry fruit and
baking spice flavors on the entry. Sweet tobacco and savory herbal notes arrive on
the mid-palate, along with beautifully balanced tannins that provide a structure that
supports the wine through its perfectly balanced, clean finish. It would be hard to
find a better go-to red wine to pair with a wide range of foods like steak, lasagna or
a wood fired pizza.
