Strawberries
Storage: Store strawberries for 1-3 days in the fridge. If cut, store
strawberries in a closed container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Nutrition: Contains vitamin C and fiber.
Make sure you wash your strawberries thoroughly before eating.
Easily remove stems by placing a straw
through the bottom of the strawberry
Strawberries can be added to your
water or to your salad.
Strawberries come in all shapes and sizes. White spots or dark red
spots are okay to eat and do not need to be removed. If there is a
brown spot or mold, be sure to remove it.
Save strawberries and other fruit by
freezing for up to a year.

Strawberry Salad
• 1 pound strawberries
• 1-2 tsp sugar
• 1/2 Tbl mint or basil,
chopped (optional)
• 1 Tbl balsamic
vinegar (or lemon
juice or lime juice)
1. Remove stems from strawberries with a straw or,
carefully, with a small knife.
2. Slice strawberries in thin pieces and place in a
medium-sized bowl.
3. Add remaining ingredients (sugar, mint and
balsamic vinegar) to strawberries in bowl.
4. Stir gently until all strawberries are coated with
all of the ingredients.
5. Let strawberries marinate for 30 minutes to 1
hour before serving. Great on top of yogurt,
oatmeal or even some ice cream.
Makes 4 servings
Additional Strawberry Ideas:
1. Add sliced strawberries, mint and lime juice to your glass of water for
a fruity drink.
2. Combine frozen strawberries and other fruit with milk, yogurt or ice
cream to make a yummy smoothie.
3. Freeze the leftover smoothie in small cups with spoons and make
your own popsicles.
