Village Messenger Abington Manor at Morgan Hill JULY 2016 Memory Care Village From the Desk of the Administrator… It’s the middle of summer and our patios are a “hot spot” for outdoor gardening & dining…hot fun in the summertime! We are grateful that our residents are enjoying the warm summer breezes, participating in tending the gardens, and celebrating the season! The Memory Care Village is growing, and I look forward to personally sharing updates with you this month. Please give me a call if you have general or specific concerns, questions, comments, or ideas you would like to share. Mary Ann Smolenyak, Administrator From the Director of Resident Care… Happy July! I have a few friendly reminders for you this month. Please remember to label the clothing you bring for your family member, this includes shoes! The nursing staff will provide a laundry marking pen, if needed. If you will be taking your loved one out of the building for any reason ~ for appointments or for fun~ please make sure that you stop by the Nurse’s Station to sign them out. If you are not sure what time you will return, please ask to take necessary medications along for your loved one. We all want medications administered on schedule. The Medication Technician (“Med Tech”) on duty will be happy to provide you with the medication & schedule. If you should return before the scheduled time, please return unused medications to the “Med Tech” on duty to assure medications are dispensed at the correctly scheduled time. Let’s keep enjoying the summertime! Jennifer Miles, LPN, DRC Abington Manor Memory Care Village is a Non-Smoking Campus. Fresh, Fun, Food We have been enjoying all the fresh local produce of the Lehigh Valley, our hydration program is in full swing, and the sugar free dessert options are perfectly sweet! The Ice Cream Socials & the Fruit Smoothie Socials bring smiles all around! We are all so happy that summer is in full swing here! Joseph Armato, C.D.M.
