Steel Blade System Product Specification
System Application:
The BlockBuster® Victory® Steel Blade System is a very durable engineered steel plow blade
solution for municipal snow removal. The combination of hardened boron alloy steel modular
blades combined with abrasion resistant Winter Carbide Matrix® filled moldboard shoes provide
durability that exceeds a standard full length steel blade and cover. The modular interlocking
blade system significantly reduces installation burden on the operator. The self sharpening blades
and shoes provide road friendly performance reducing damaging effects on road surfaces. The
blade system can be used on any road surface and is recommended for speeds up to 30 mph.
General Product Description:
The BlockBuster® Victory® Steel Blade System includes Hardened Boron Alloy Steel
modular blades combined with abrasion resistant (AR) cast steel Winter Carbide Matrix® filled
moldboard shoes to form a single solid assembly. The selectively fastened moldboard shoes
make the system available in medium or high attack angle versions for plow angles of 55 to 100
degrees. The BlockBuster® Victory® solid one-piece construction reduces installation time, and
eliminates the need for extra steel blade inventory. The interlocking ends are designed to lock
sections together to form a rigid full length blade system. The BlockBuster® Victory® Steel
Blade System can also include (1) Plow Guard with heavy duty Winter Carbide Matrix® along
the cutting edge that can be positioned at the principle wear point of the blade. The System is
delivered complete with Plow Guard(s), all mounting hardware (with thread locking fasteners),
installation instructions, and crated together in one palletized package.

Blade shall be made from hot rolled Boron Alloy Steel.
Blade shall be heat treated and hardened
Hole size and location of holes shall be per customer’s requirements.
Tolerance between hole spacing is +/- 1/16”, non-accumulative, from center to center
across full length of blade.
Cast Steel Moldboard Shoes:
1. Moldboard shoes are high strength abrasion resistant cast steel with reconstitutable
welded Winter Carbide Matrix® wear pad embedded into a bottom cavity. The
moldboard shoes can be selectively fastened in at least two positions to provide
different attack angles for the main blade.
Welding:
1. Each BlockBuster® Victory® moldboard shoe and interlocking tabs are welded to the
back surface of the main boron steel blade. This welding process provides adequate
strength to retain the shoe and tabs while in service. The BlockBuster® Victory® blade
sections each have one AR cast steel moldboard shoe welded in place.

Plow Guard:
1. High impact, ASTM Grade A-36 Hot rolled bar, 1 1/8” in thickness.
2. Guard will have a cutting edge of Winter Carbide Matrix® to be 7/8" min. in height for
the full length of the 1 1/8” thick steel base.
3. Winter Carbide Matrix® profile must be parallel and flush (plus/minus 1/32") to blade
surface of guard. Winter Carbide Matrix® must be fused to front impact bar.
4. Winter Carbide Matrix® edge must demonstrate vertical stress relief checks. One relief
check minimum per inch of longitudinal Winter Carbide Matrix®.
5. No longitudinal cracks at fusion zone of carbide weld to base steel. Weld repair not
allowed in this area. Cutting edge weld is to have a carbide weld bead along front edge
so guard conforms to blade wear angle.
6. Mounting holes to be drilled 11/16” diameter, then counter-sunk with square punched to
accept 5/8” Plow Bolts for flush mounting to blades.
7. Plow Guard to be painted Bright Orange (Winter Equipment Identification) with chip
and corrosion resistant paint.
Mounting Hardware:
1. The mounting hardware will consist of high quality thread locking components
consisting of a spring steel conical washer and all metal lock nut in conjunction with
Grade 8 plow bolts.

Finished blade will be given one coat of rust resistant paint and marked with a label.
Finished blade shall comply with standard blade manufacturing tolerances.
Manufacturer’s literature shall be furnished as required.
Complete plow system shall generally comprise a combination of at least (3) blade
sections.
Blade System Packaging:
All blade system components are to be provided in a single box or crate comprising of:
Boron Alloy Steel Blades with integrated Winter Carbide Matrix® moldboard shoes,
Plow Guard(s), Installation Instructions, and Grade 8 Hardware including thread locking
fasteners.
The blade system package is to be securely banded to a pallet providing adequate
protection for common freight carrier handling, transportation, and receiving.
Packaging will provide adequate protection from the elements incurred during normal
transportation and storage.
