It was interesting to think that the very first liquid ever
poured on the Moon, and the first food eaten there,
were communion elements. Buzz Aldrin

SO GOOD - At the communion rail, a man held out his hand to
receive the bread. His curious toddler by his side loudly asked,
“Is it good, Daddy?” He smiled and nodded yes. Indeed,
communion is a good gift from Jesus, who wants us to
remember his sacrifice for us. The next time you receive
communion, remember to “taste and see that the LORD
is good!” (Psalm 34:8, emphasis added).

We and/or our families will all go through tough
times whether it is physical or emotional pain.
Why not have a group of “Prayer Warriors”
praying for you or your loved ones. When you
request prayers; you can be as “specific” or as “general” as you
want concerning your need for prayer. Maybe you want to
become one of Trinity’s “Prayer Warriors”? To be a part of the

NEW ONLINE OR AUTOMATIC PAYMENT GIVING!! –
We have been notified that the Simply
Giving program is no longer being
offered as a means of automatic
payments to Trinity. Those individuals
currently using it may continue but new
applications will not be accepted. The Vision
Council has selected two new electronic giving (e-giving)
programs. These are exciting new opportunities for all
members and visitors to financially support our church family
using electronic means either for a one time payment or
reoccurring payments. Yes, cash and checks can still be
used. In the next few weeks watch your home mailbox
for an information packet describing these
opportunities.
STEWARDSHIP REPORT - We give thanks to God and to each
one of you for your faithfulness in giving. We praise God for
continually providing all that we need. Let each of us prayerfully
consider our pattern of giving and seek God's direction so that we
are offering Him and what He desires.

Thank you so much in advance! I can’t tell you how many
people I have asked… “Have you served at the Soup Kitchen?”
and they say… “No, but I have been meaning to…” Here is

The Jolly Freetimers will meet on Tuesday May 9th at
12:00 Noon in Trinity’s gathering area. The program will be
announced at a later time. Who are the
Jolly Freetimers? We are an adult
organization for retired members of Trinity. We
meet the second Tuesday of each month at approx. 12:00 noon
at various sites in the Brainerd Lakes area and enjoy good food,
fellowship, and an entertaining program of some type.
Interested in joining this group or want more information?
Contact Pat Howitz at 829-5891.
NEXT SUNDAY IS NOISY CAN SUNDAY!! - Every first
Sunday of the month, we will have a “NOISY
CAN SUNDAY” for the purpose of collecting
some coins for the ELCA World Hunger
program. At the beginning of our worship
service, several metal cans will be passed through the
congregation to collect the loose change in your pocket. It is
surprising how pocket change adds up! Thank You!!
DRIVERS AND HELPERS WANTED FOR OUR BUS!! – We
have started our transportation on
Sunday mornings with our Bus. We have
discovered from our trial runs that it
would be nice to have TWO volunteers
each Sunday. One to drive, and another person to help with the
loading of our passengers. Our ongoing goal is to have enough
drivers and helpers so they only have to help out once a month.
Drivers DO NOT need to have a Commercial Driver’s
License (CDL). So, please consider being a driver or helper.
Let’s make it happen! See Joe in the Church Office to
sign up or if you have questions. THANKS!!!
WEDNESDAY NIGHT SUPPERS –Everyone is invited to
the Fellowship Hall to hang out from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00
p.m. and enjoy a meal together and fellowship.
Wednesday Night Worship Services begin at 6:00 p.m.
Prayer at a Child's First Communion - Lord Jesus Christ, in
the Sacrament of the Eucharist You left us the
outstanding manifestation of your limitless love for us.
Thank You for giving our child the opportunity to experience
this love in receiving the Sacrament for the first time.
May your Eucharist presence keep him/her ever free from sin,
fortified in faith, pervaded by love for God and neighbor, and
fruitful in virtue, that he/she may continue to receive You
throughout life and attain final union with You at death. Amen.
NEXT SUNDAY IS FOOD SHELF SUNDAY!! –Trinity's Food
Shelf is being used by more people who are in
need. Please consider bringing a food item or
making a monetary donation to Trinity's Food Shelf.
The CHILDREN’S NURSERY is available for children up
through 36 months from 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
every Sunday. The Nursery is located in Room #8 in
the lower hallway across from the library and is adult

☺ CHRISTIAN HUMOR IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL ☺
THE MONKEY - One day the zoo-keeper noticed that the
monkey was reading two books - the Bible and Darwin's The Origin
of Species. In surprise he asked the ape, "Why are you reading
both those books?" "Well," said the monkey, "I just wanted to
know if I was my brother's keeper or my keeper's brother."
LOCKED OUT - Two Washington politicians had locked
themselves out of their car, and unfortunately some important
papers they needed for a meeting were inside. "Let's use a coat
hanger to pull up the lock," suggested the first. "Oh, no," argued
the second. "Someone might see us and think we were trying to
break in." "Then we could use my pocketknife to cut away the
rubber around the window and stick our fingers through to pull up
the lock." "No, no! People would think we're too stupid to know
how to use a coat hanger to open cars." "Well, we'd better do
something fast. The top's down and it's starting to rain."
