BUSINESS CASUAL VS. BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL
In the business world, there are two types of clothing
styles that are typically acceptable to wear; Business
Professional or Business Casual. Your workplace may
specify either one type of attire that will be the norm all
of the time, or that certain days will require one clothing
style over the other.
Business Casual: If you work in a laid-back work
environment, you may be able to get away with Business
Casual attire every day. If not, you may be able to wear
Business Casual on certain days of the week or for
certain functions. Business Casual attire includes looking
neat and casual, while still maintaining a professional
appearance. Clothing items that would constitute as
business casual include slacks or khakis, open-collar or
polo shirts, optional ties or seasonal sport coats, and
loafers or dress shoes that cover all or most of the foot.
Business Professional: A company with a stricter dress
code policy may call for you to wear Business
Professional attire on most days. Business Professional
attire includes conservative clothing that will portray
professionalism. Clothing items that would be acceptable
to wear in a Business Professional environment include
blazers or suit jackets, button down shirts, suit pants, ties,
and dress shoes.
