Options for adding references into
Mendeley Desktop
• drag and drop files and folders into Mendeley Desktop
• use Web Importer in the browser to export references
from databases to Mendeley Desktop
• if the database doesn’t support Web Importer, save
references as a .ris, .txt, .bib etc. file to your computer.
The file can be imported to Mendeley Desktop.
• add references manually (My Library > Add Document;
Mendeley Desktop -> File -> Add Entry Manually…)
• set Mendeley Desktop to watch a specific folder on your
computer (Mendeley Desktop -> File -> Watch Folder..)
• use ”Direct Export” (Scopus and ScienceDirect)
